Here's to the federal government! If you're a gay transgender, they celebrate you for a month. If you die in the service of your country, they give you a day!

They'll juxtapose to some kind of gayness on Monday as opposed to honoring those that served.

I'm starting off my war movie watching with Down Periscope right now. :))

Rewatching Band of Brothers for the... well I've lost track of how many times I've watched it.  To watch it and then watch the "We Stand Alone Together" documentary reminds me of just how much I don't measure up.  I'll finish up the second watch of Masters of the Air, maybe some Saving Private Ryan and The Pacific.
"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar the first time his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

One of the best comedies in years.

Started watching Band myself today as well.

We talk a lot about those great men who gave it ALL, but we sometimes forget the great women and children they left behind. I believe they're also worthy of our honor and remembrance for the sacrifices they also shared.

For example, I'd like to remember Mrs. Mary Ann Williams (10 August 1821 – 15 April 1874). She was possibly the first person to propose a day to decorate soldiers graves, which turned into the current day Memorial Day. If you get a chance to do so, please read her story. Just like the men from yesteryear when we say, "They dont make them like that anymore," the same is true for great women like Mrs. Williams.

Absolutely no disrespect intended but...wow.

Here's to honoring all our war dead thru our history, and their families who bore the brunt of their sacrifice.

It's not a day to honor veterans. Or first responders.  And any media source that tries to balance the day with some shitty story about military gays or trans challenges or why we need fucking Palestinians brought here can eat a bag of dicks.

Awesome day right there. I've started binging a series on MAX called John Adams and his place in the Revolutionary War.
I can't help compare today's 20 somethings to those young men from WW2.
Can you imagine sitting in a foxhole in 15° weather in a foot of snow in your lightweight hunting gear with people shooting at you like they did at Bastogne? or without water on steaming hot pile of rocks littered with dead people like at Peleliu?
I don't think I would have fared well.
I can't so much as drink a damn glass of water around a midget or a piece of antique furniture.

John Adams was a great series.
The Lord wants you to put your foot on their balls and believe in it. 'Cuz that's what wins football games. Not jumping offsides like a bunch of wimps and faggots. I don't care what those pinkos over in Russia say. You want to be a loser? You go live in Russia. I'm a winner. I'm an American.

Masters of the Air is better on rewatch.  No clue how they found a plane that could carry Rosenthal's massive balls.

If anyone feels like donating to something in honor of Memorial Day, Diego Ranch up here in Jonesboro is always looking for resources to help.

Smoking a beef tri-tip today in honor of those we've lost.

Update: that was good. I usually make Kabobs out of tri-tip but might have to start doing it this way. Makes more or less a Prime Rib type dish. Needs some horseradish sauce to accompany down the gullet but all I had was Hienz 57. Will cut the fat back off next time...wasn't sure if I needed it for flavor or not.

That is an undeniable fact.

I wonder if that bothers any of our lefty brethren here? If it does, it would be refreshing to hear them say so. I've heard them call us racists and kooks and every phone in the book, but I've never heard them say that this undeniable fact bothers them in the least.
I really don't care, Margaret.

I did two slabs of ribs on the BGE. Minor issues with the fire going out after an hour, but quickly got it lit again and off to the races. Best ones I have done so far. Tender and fall off the bone.

Homemade ice cream to top it off.

The dildo of consequence, rarely arrives lubed.

I visited the Normandy American Cemetery when I was in France a couple of years ago and I found this young Arkansan's marker.  I did a little research on him when I got back home.  He was from Current River in Randolph county. He joined his regiment in France on July 13th from a replacement battalion.  He was killed in action two weeks later on July 26th 1944.  He was 19. RIP young man.

I love my neighborhood.  Got one invitation for free burgers and brats at noon, and then another cookout at 6:00.
