The year under Morris when Storey came in and played well late sticks out in that regard. Many were ready to throw in the towel in the first half. That switched to Ty Storey being the next Peyton Manning in the 4th. The inital gut reaction turned out to be right.

I also remember playing Rice in the opener a couple years ago and having to cone back late to win. That led to a 9 win season.

But what are you all looking for in this game specifically?

I was at the dump last year for the opener and, looking back, I remember Chunk Sanders couldn't get 3 yards a carry.  Now was it Chunk that sucked?  Yes.  But even Chunk should've gotten yards against an FCS team. 

So I'm looking at can we blow them off (lol) the ball on short yardage?

For us it's going to be a game of "Not about them it's about us". We want to look/play clean and organized at all phases. Likely we won't show anything in super duper detail. The defense will probably stay pretty base. The offense will likely run the ball a lot...mixed in with some hallmark Petrino plays to get the crowd convinced.

We won't learn a lot about this team unless we learn a lot about this team in the negative.
