We were gonna hang a hunnert on them if they didn't shorten the 2nd. Thats not good for anyone.

If the other side is so bad you have to shorten the game, there is no way they are giving your guys an opportunity to develop. That is worse than going against air.

Whoever thought this was a good idea to schedule this game is likely the same group that thought Chad Morris was a good hire. Our program is being hampered by these people and their egos.
Check your damn blood pressure!

I watched it again and IT WAS awful.  It was like the state championship high school varsity going up against the 7th grade team.  Can anyone say that they had a single player who could make our three deep?  I don't know.

But it may have been useful anyway.  Remember how everyone used to make a big deal about Petrino not even letting the defense make plays in practice because he wanted our offense to get everything EXACTLY right?  Will, this was just a step up from that.  It was a defense that was not capable of doing anything and so we could work on our execution.  Mostly it seemed pretty good.

I was the right thing to do. Anything to bash Sam though I guess (I'm not a Sam fan BTW).

Auburn did the same thing in their game. 10 minute 3rd and 4th qtrs.

Maybe it's the same people who scheduled Furman against Ole Miss and Alabama A&M against Auburn.

One of these games per year is great.  A lot of guys played Thursday that won't see the field the rest of the year.  We got live game reps for those players that will help them for the future, and help coaches evaluate them when it comes time to prepare for next season and/or cull players into the portal.

Confidence is key for teams like us, Ole Miss (normally), State, Missouri, etc in the middle-lower tier talent wise.  Winning a few games early, even against substandard opponents, can build momentum and help you win some of those one score games or possibly upset some more talented teams down the stretch.  Lose a couple of early ones like last year and the whole team can develop self-doubt at best or a terminal case of the fuckits at worst and tank a season.
Perish peacefully in a warm environment.

Quote from: Lurk on Sep 01, 2024, 09:33 PMGood lord, there's a whole row of Lizzo's back there.

I'll never understand how the Razorback band sucks so bad compared to a band like this. UAPB band should be contracted to play at our games, and they can have our crew or just use their jr varsity band.  They need the money.

Hold your horses!

We got updates to enhance our game day experience this year. Check out the exerprtfrom an email I got today:

QuotePregame Band Show: The new pregame show will blend classic Razorback traditions with additional fan engagement and energy featuring familiar music and visual elements that our fans love.

Following the game, fans are invited to join in our post-game tradition of singing along with the Razorback Band as they play the University of Arkansas Alma Mater.

Pregame flyovers are scheduled for every game this season, starting with USAF F-16's for the home-opener vs. UAB on September 14. Additional details on flyovers, including information on the aircraft and crew, will be released each game week.

Frisbee Dogs will be in attendance for a performance on September 14 (UAB). The U.S. Navy Leap Frogs Parachute team will drop into the stadium during the pregame on Oct. 5 (Tennessee).

Arkansas Flag: A new giant Arkansas Flag will be introduced into the gameday experience to showcase the pride of the Natural State and will be held by pre-selected fans and students, each game.

Kick for Cash: One randomly selected fan will have the opportunity to kick a field goal for $10,000 at each and every home game.
The dildo of consequence, rarely arrives lubed.

They did it a little different.  No alma mater, replaced it with Rock & Roll.  It could be ok if everybody joins in the We're Gonna Beat the Hell Outta You part.
