Quote from: Piggielicious on Aug 30, 2024, 06:34 PMGreen missed on some easy passes and and one or two that would have been picks against better competition, Johnson getting burned for a td but their qb stepped out of bounds, Johnson's block in the back that negated a td - that's just off the top of my head.

Johnson wasn't burned as much as he just let the interception go right through his hands.

And good pressure forced the QB out of bounds.

The block in the back was stupid though.

Can we all agree that we never ever need to have UAPB as an opponent again.
Check your damn blood pressure!

Pretty confident Harding would have given better effort

Johnson and lil' Huddy are both liabilities. Secondary will get exposed in the SEC.

Quote from: Lurk on Aug 31, 2024, 07:58 AMThat's a good sign. Clark isn't terrible.

Clark isn't as bad as everyone makes him out to be.   He is too slow for the position but is usually in the right place.  You just can't let him get matched up man-to-man with anyone other than maybe a blocking TE.
Perish peacefully in a warm environment.

Clark I think is probably better suited as a reserve guy that comes in when we go zone. That's more his speed. Johnson is supposedly greatly improved...we'll just have to see. Are we sure he was the #8 that pushed a guy in the back. I just assume we have 17 #8s on the roster.

Looking at the defensive stat lines. Usually there would be a couple guys getting a good deal of the tackles. This looks like a stat line from Freshman mode of the video football game. Max 2 tackles...lots of guys getting 1 tackle. Crazy offensive stat lines.

I didn't even try to learn the new lineup. Every year from here on out, break out the roster on the iPad. The next game will be easier to tell who's where and what number they are.

On the website Dozier is 83, on google's box score he wore 88. Not sure which is correct.

I think I'm actually going to enjoy it.  An opportunity every year to upgrade talent...or not.  You never know what you are going to get.

Hell, Bryant HS would have been more competitive.

But, but, but... the elf says we need to play them every year...

I wholeheartedly agree with you and Petrino.  Just give them the damn money.

If you're expected to be good, and coming off a good year, I agree we shouldn't be playing them. I do think this team probably needed a confidence boost by blowing someone out.

It's good to have some games where your backups get a lot of reps.

I agree. Unfortunately these days there's even less of a spot for a sub-200 pound LB like Bua.

Maybe we can get him NIL sponsored by an HGH company.

I agree with most this.  He is actually pretty good.  Just a step slow.

I actually know the lineup this year better than some recent years due to playing EA Sports College Football.   :D

Absolutely.  I don't like Sam cutting ten minutes off the game.  Those players needed more time to play and develop.
