Thin Red Swine

Here's the deep dive. We should've won 33-20 based on the model developed by PFF that he's using too.

Have they sent that to Stillwater? The SEC or Big 12 offices? Can we get the score revised so we come out with the W like we should have?

We'll have to just print our own moral victory banner
"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar the first time his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Once authored a post that critics claimed, "Was notaslibro level."

For the party, do we want cake, pie, or both?

I would like both so I can grab a slice of whichever one Sam doesn't try to run off with

I know you're trying to be funny or at least smart, but I think it's valuable to quantify and that this metric portends future success.

I think Biddy kind of hit on this but we were really missing a 3rd back getting some work in that game yesterday...sure would have been nice to have had a backup 250lb guy to go get that yard late in the contest when we really needed it. But I can understand you don't necessarily put a kid in cold off the bench that hasn't played a lick all game. A few carries in the 3rd quarter might have been some "feel good" carries to put that shit over the top but we'll never know now.

Not playing musical chairs at RB is not what we've been used to seeing out of Pittman and as I recall Petrino seemed to always use at least 3 guys as well so it's a bit odd that we never did yesterday. I'm guessing that says a lot about what they think about pass pro/knowing the offense out of those guys. So that must mean there is a big gap in game readiness from RB2 Hill to Russell and Dubinion.

The passing routes are very much Petrino but the alignment and the run game to me remind me more of what we saw out of Briles Baylor style offense.

And not to throw gasoline on the fire but for Petrino...Lamar Jackson was a long time ago now. He hasn't really had much of a success story QB to keep that legendary QB guru thing going for a minute. That was like 7 years ago and his QBs after were very average...to me it appears Petrino has been chasing Lamar Jackson's ghost for a while and really had a vision for that type of player while at Arkansas the first time with Mitchell but that guy never panned out. We aren't talking about Chaney claiming Drew Brees from 20 years earlier as his lone success story but I mean let's put another one on the board already. Hopefully that's Taylen Green but I'm not entirely sold.

Great point about the QB train derailing. Maybe that's as much a reflection of this generation of daisies that can't handle being lovingly called a motherfucker every now and again.

The behind the scenes stuff on Hogs+ with Green showed a bit of a gentler BmfP but I bet when the cameras are off he's not much changed.

He can't really say what he'd like to say as an assistant though.

you don't think the staff isn't allowed to ream someone when needed?
i saw a practice video where mateos told a lineman to "quit being stupid and look at the fucking head" of a blocking sled. pittman knew damn well what petrino was going to bring.

edit: and in a another video pittman told wilson to "get the hell off the field" when he didn't complete the route. you're just making stuff up.

I'm not saying assistants are hand cuffed on what they can say to players but being an assistant after being a head coach is different. Almost all of them are more reserved.

It's like you've never heard the term, "Code Red."

Thin Red Swine

You asked for it, you got it.

Green sucks.

We have one receiver and one running back.

D-line sucks but UAB still couldn't run effectively enough to pull the upset.

Show-Me Hog

Well the opening sentence answers one of the debates in the other thread.

The 8th-largest crowd in Razorback Stadium history (and largest for a season opener since USC in 2006) flocked to Fayetteville

Also, I'm not sure this sentence makes any sense. He knew we could run so....he didn't?

Bobby Petrino realized pretty quickly that his offense could get whatever it wanted on the ground, so the Razorbacks only ran the ball 33 times.

Goes along with someone else's comment in the other thread. Petrino was using some of this as a way to practice what they are struggling with.

I just wish he wouldn't do this until we were in complete control, which never felt like we were.

And also, there is a fair amount of mind reading going on there, as to what Petrino "knew" we could do.

Sure is...trying to attribute Petrino Prime with Grandpa Petrino is probably a mistake. Also it's a much different game now with lots of transient players arguably more so than you'd find on a pro team from year to year. It's going to take time to "gel" and yes sure also this team probably isn't that good especially when we start having to get into our depth.

We were down a starter on OL to enter the season. Now we are probably down two unless Kutus can give us something and soon. We're beat up on defense. The team spent 6 days in fall camp preparing for Okie Lite and still lost...that probably took a lot of wind out of their sails.

But sure Petrino is mindfucking everyone.
