Arkansas vs Auburn

Here's the deal:

Green is the best QB.  I know everyone is frustrated with that, and I get it.  But he gives us our only chance. Singleton is too small and was inaccurate and missed an easy 3rd down conversion.

It's laughable that fans think coaches watch these guys every day and just decide to start the player who's worse.  This applies to every position.

Petrino has dumbed down the offense.  He doesn't trust Green and that's smart.  We're only going as far as our run game, which is miraculously improved.

In fact nobody is talking about how much of a miracle our running game is this year.  We have more than double the rushing TDs through 4 games than ALL of last year.

Unbelievable.

Quote from: animal on Sep 22, 2024, 09:16 AMCover zero usually implies you have 11 guys coming. Not 4 guys playing patty cake and 3 others rushing the QB faster but slower but faster.
Cover Zero is not 11 guys blitzing. Cover Zero is man-to-man with no safety help. Every player rushes except for the DB's playing man.

If Singleton comes in moving the ball he probably stays in the game. He got a taste of SEC Road so there's that. We'll see what happens in the future. That was a shot across the bow that Green needs to start taking to the coaching he's no doubt getting or he's gonna come out. I don't think either QB has really clued in that the speed of the game is much faster than anything they've ever encountered and this was against a team that might not win but maybe a couple SEC games this season maybe none.

I agree that was Sam protecting his precious kid's fragile ego.  I agree that singleton would have stayed in had he moved the ball, and I think he should have gotten another series.  There's no way one can get hydrated that fast even with a pickle juice Gatorade pedialyte enema.  IVs take a while.

Three man rush and even then, the left tackle was pushed back nearly into Green.
Well, shit...

Blackstock or whatever his name is got worked over against Auburn. You put a quick dude on him and he will run right around. Braun has a habit of looking to his left and not picking up the obvious dude stunting the run or blitzing on pass. So that right side of the line is in bad shape. The left side seems ok most of the time but it's got it's issues as well. When we get decent holes though they tend to be between the center and Braun but those holes are going to be fewer and far between going against better players. I haven't noticed Harris getting beaten badly but he's supposedly the sixth more gooder lineman we have. Thus far not overly impressed with Carmona. Kutas hasn't played due to injury but was penciled in to start at guard in place of Harris. Crawford I don't think has sniffed the field this season which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I think technically a lot of these lineman will be back next season if they want. Nichols playing on a bad wheel probably isn't helping matters. I didn't feel like we were pulling and doing that pin/pull shit but maybe they just didn't think that shit was going to work.

Quote from: DirkPiggler on Sep 22, 2024, 10:17 AMA&M, LSU, and Missouri are all beatable.  Note this is not a prediction that we will win any of these, but they aren't automatic write-offs either.

Last night's OU/Tennessee game was a preview of what our UT game will be.  I think we are every bit as good as OU right now.

All true, except I'm not so sure we're as good as OU... but I really haven't watched them much other than last night's game, and they seemed better.  Could be that I'm not being objective when it comes to us.

As for LSU, yes beatable, but I just feel like they beat us.  Texass, TN, and LSU are the schools I have a burning and passionate hate for.  I hope like hell we beat aTm and Mizz... but I'd give em all away to railroad TX, TN, and LSU.

Quote from: passed on Sep 22, 2024, 10:04 AMRealistically you are completely correct.  However, I'm going to be bitter and wail, gnash teeth, and tear at cloth losing to Texass, TN, and LSU at home.  We stand not even a prayer of winning any one of those... and they are the only 3 I give a shit about (emotionally).  If we had a winner's mentality, and played like the first half against Okie Lite, maybe, but we just aren't very good... and don't know how to win especially in adversity.

I think LSU is the most winnable home game. TN, TX, and Ole Miss should beat us unmercifully.
The Lord wants you to put your foot on their balls and believe in it. 'Cuz that's what wins football games. Not jumping offsides like a bunch of wimps and faggots. I don't care what those pinkos over in Russia say. You want to be a loser? You go live in Russia. I'm a winner. I'm an American.

No one thinks that coaches  intentionally start a worse player, but sometimes coaches are wrong about who the best player is at a position. Matt Jones and Shawn Andrews come to mind. However, it is clear after that one series that Green is the best option at QB.

Quote from: animal on Sep 22, 2024, 10:00 AMWe can also still hope that Petrino is playing 4D chess. He wants them to think we can't pick up a blitz. :stache:

Green will be untouchable in the Playoffs.

Perhaps that's because we might not make the Playoffs, but if we do...

Fixed that for ya.

Don't forget to deduct points for being at home.  We do not play well at home for some reason.

ole miss has played furman, middle tennessee, wake forest, and georgia southern. the rest of their schedule is in conference so who knows where that team will be by the time we play them. plus it's always a close game.

Ole Miss looks soft on O-Line.  They haven't played anybody with a pulse yet.  We'll see.

That was my attempt at being nice. The Horns will beat us by 20+ and I'm afraid TN's DL will maul us.

If we're ranking teams I'd most like to beat this season, here's mine:

1. Aggy
2. Mizz
3. LSU
4. Texas
