Singleton ought to get half of the first team reps all week at least.  Green has had plenty of time to adjust on all of the issues he has.  Gotta turn the page.

Green is a redshirt junior

It's it worth trying to develop him for a maybe, not guaranteed, successful senior year? One year?

I mean, we know what we have at this point.

Natty_Ice

no way they throw Malachi in against TN.  LA Tech maybe but I doubt it.

You're probably right, especially given how good Tennessee is defensively.

It sucks that La Tech isn't this weekend. It would have been nice to have had a make right game where we could have also worked Singleton out.

Yeah I don't think we see Singleton against Tenn at least not as a starter. Maybe they get him some reps if the game is out of hand. It's a home game and we're due for a big game at home...so maybe just maybe these guys come out motivated to not piss down their legs. I get the feeling people don't understand just how thin this roster really is. That we're competitive at all is probably a huge accomplishment.

One thing is for certain if you can't protect the ball either because you fumble, fuck up exchanges on read/options or flat out throw some of the dumbest interceptions ever seen...at some point you have to be held accountable. Turnovers likely cost us this game and the OK Lite game.

Green never looks off his primary read and is super slow to make decisions often times the ball is late getting there even when he's looking right at it and it's open. Armstrong is the only WR that has any kind of rhythm with Green.

It's not all on Green...I suspect other than Armstrong the WRs are hot trash at getting separation. Defenses will begin to focus on Armstrong now more so than ever because he is all we got.

We keep trotting out Broden who hasn't done jack shit. Sategna is looking pretty good to ok and could end up being a solid #2 option but anymore we should really have 4 really decent to good SEC talents at WR. We have maybe 2 and that's a bit of a stretch. Teslaa I think is good in spots if we're going against a zone.

Maybe we should join Bob Holt in his fascination with Monte Harrison. At least he's an older dude that's seem some ball. Dozier and a few others have failed to get on the field despite some of these other fellers playing like poop.

Here's their QB's stat line

C/ATT   YDS   AVG   TD   INT      QBR
11/22   163   7.4   2   0      59.4

Good thing Weigman was out.

And for comparison... their backup outplayed our starter.

C/ATT   YDS   AVG   TD   INT      QBR
23/41   279   6.8   1   1      59.0

I'm too old to be angry.

I'm just tired of it all.

I want the fat man gone but I'm also so exhausted at the idea of yet another "rebuild" with a "two year pass" and on and on.

Regardless if Great Value Nutt is fired or not after this year, we will always be rebuilding, the way college sports are these days with portal being as wide as Davis's Mom's and the fact that GVN cannot recruit.

We are not going to be better than 5-7 this year. We are not going to rise up against Tenn, LSU, or Ole Miss at home. After that gauntlet, MSU does not look like to be an easy win as others have said.

It is possible that GVN is kept on another year due to other financial reasons and the excuse of getting players to fit the Bobby's system.

If so, it is just going to get worse.

We cannot keep doing the same things over and over again and expect different result. Until attitudes in the AD and the PTB, and Foundation are changed, we are stuck chasing our tail.

Until all you fuckers start tithing 10% of your earnings (before tax) to ArkansasEdge this is the best we can hope for.  We were obviously outmanned yesterday (and in the other 15 one score games Sam has lost).  It's a miracle we've stayed so close so often.  Praise be to Sam for that.

I started paying a bit more attention to the Armstrong Green connection, and what I've noticed is that Armstrong consistently comes back to the under thrown ball.  The others don't seem to do that nearly as well, which is probably why Green has better "rhythm" with Armstrong.  Armstrong just bails him out.

I too would like to see what Harrison can do... He's a big and older dude, probably has some leadership skills, and seems to have the hands and physical assets.  Give him some work out there and see if he can't do some things for us.

Here is Sam talking about replacing the D-Line that had been playing lights out so that the backups could lose the game.  What an idiot.

"Well, we felt like the fresh guys were going to play better," Arkansas coach Sam Pittman said. "I'll have to look at the tape to see exactly how those guys played or if we didn't fit at linebacker, or the safeties didn't fit.
"But in hindsight, I wish we would have stopped them. And we obviously felt like the guys we had in the game were capable of doing it."

Maybe he should have focused more on conditioning at some point over the last few years.

Sam has no business coaching if he made that decision over Williams.

He has no business coaching if he let Williams make that call.

This all sounds like a manager/pitching coach pulling a guy in the 7th inning who is pitching a perfect game because that was the plan before the game started.

I've said this before, but Sam has absolutely no feel for the game and consistently makes the wrong decisions.  It's most obvious to us the average fans on fourth downs but there are all kinds of decisions made or not made that get us to being a consistent loser.

💯 He is just a poorer version of Nutt and Bert who got lucky with another coach's players, can't coach a damn and can't recruit.

It's one thing to mix in one or two guys for a series. To give an entirely new line the whole drive was retarded but it told A&M all they needed to know and they just relaxed and ran right at us with very basic stuff. We were spent. For all the fuck ups in the game and there were many I think that one hurt the most.

It didn't help matters that the offense was doing stupid shit putting the ball on the ground.

The linebackers are consistently terrible in run fits whenever the other team makes adjustments we seem slow to figure it out. Sorey (and Dix Jr) is out and out going for the dude that is going to block him and instead of shedding and getting after the ball carriers ass he just goes thru the motions and gets blocked out of the play. Might as well be any number of other dudes we've had thru years with half his talent that did the exact same thing.

why not sprinkle in the 2nd string subs 1 or 2 at a time?  Whoever made that decision to sub out the entire line at once in the middle of a close game is beyond stupib.

In Arkansas fashion we'll hang on to him too long because of that time he beat Texas.

We hired him because allegedly no one else wanted the job after Bert and Chad.  Are we really much better off now?

If we had fired him earlier, we would have been.  But in true Arkansas fashion we won't make a change until the program is a smoking hole in the ground.

By the numbers, Pittman is worse than Danny Ford.

We have proven we can win at least nine games in a year, and be within one score in another 16 losses over four plus years, with an absolute doofus running the show.

A coach who has even an average amount of self-confidence should see that as a job where he can excel.
