Honest question, cause success can be defined differently.

There's more than one example, but I'll pick Miss State. They won the title in 2021 and then went on to finish with a 33-55 record in conference the last three seasons. They finished dead last and second to last in two of those three seasons. I know several MSU fans. They didn't even watch most of the games or follow the sport because those teams were so bad.

Would you trade spots with them over the past 4 years? One National Championship. One mediocre year. Two abysmal years.

Pondered this many times. OM is an even better example. They have dropped off significantly since they lucked into a title. Hell, they wanted Bianco fired midway that season.

They may have a title but I've spent far less days feeling disappointed in our program than they have.

This is where I am also.

I wouldn't trade the consistent success of our program for a title followed by an extended drought and apathy. I'm already apathetic enough to other Razorback sports. To each their own.

Because Cole wouldn't run in and call them off. Can also argue they still could've won the game without catching it. DVH had overused Cronin. He was running on fumes at that point.

Gates and Cole had both made more difficult plays in the vicinity during the series and were getting in position. Then I remembered thinking "Yay - Carson Shaddy is taking charge!"
As far as calling someone off, the noise was deafening at that point.

I could also see Anderson at DH and Diggs back in RF if fully helathy.

Have the same 3 weekend starters all year. That happens and we're pitching pretty good.

I think Helfrick will be solid behind the plate. He's got a great arm. Sounds like DVH wants to be more aggressive on the base paths this year. Interesting to see if anything is different having Wernes at 3rd and Thompson in the dugout.

What am I missing?

agreed - no matter how bad a season we have in basketball, I can always look back with fond memories of the 94 title season. I wish 2018 was the same way in baseball.
