I'm still of the belief that the program can be successful without winning a championship.

Obviously, I would prefer to win one, but having a program that has a legit chance to win a championship nearly every year and wins almost every week for 4 months is a successful program. Especially given the state of football and basketball.

Your argument would be more compelling if 7 (8 if you count Texas) different SEC teams had not won championships since DVH has been here.  Some of them multiple times.

It's fair criticism or at least it's fair to point it out and question it.

Over the last 10 or so years it has become my favorite collegiate sport, and by far my favorite Razorback sport. Our football decline obviously contributed to that but I was still much more engaged in baseball even in Pittman's "good" year in 2021. I loved Muss's tournament runs but college basketball in general has been painful to watch for years. I have to wager on it to give a shit.

We may never win one under DVH but I'm never going to complain about being a legit contender every single year. I guess we're like the Gonzaga of baseball at this point but I'll take that and hope for the best every year. I also find DVH much more likeable than our other coaches. No bitching or blaming the fans, blue light specials, attendance, NIL, etc. He just does his job and has done it very well for a long time. He's not infallible but it's also not his fault that 3 different guys couldn't catch a pop up.

UT and OU coming into the conference just made it even better. As good as SEC football has been forever and basketball has been this year, SEC baseball is the cream of the crop. Every weekend is awesome, as evidenced by our schedule.

The true quesion isn't if you would trade.  The true question is do you think Miss State or most of the other 6 SEC teams who have one a championship over the last 20 years is a better baseball program than Arkansas.  

I realize championships matter but over the last 6-7 years, if not longer, there is no denying that Arkansas is one of the top 2-3 teams in the SEC and probably the country.

It feels like we need just one title to validate all the success the program has had.

We've done everything expected of a top tier program EXCEPT win it all. 

Even if we don't, it's a damn sight better than any other program on campus outside of track, which if we're being honest no one really cares about all that much.

I think he was on a normal trajectory to win several until the dropped foul ball.  Now it's in his head.  Some of his pitching decisions and all that in the tournament are questionable.
