"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar the first time his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Hard to get yards when you don't have the ball. Defense was giving LSU a free 7 yards all night. They took it. Kept the ball away. Not saying the offense was anything to brag about, but defense was a total turd.

I've never seen a team blitz as much as us and hardly ever get a sack.
irritatingly incompetent & infuriatingly unhelpful

We only ran 50 plays. Defense not being unable to get off rhe field killed us. Add in the TOs and we were lucky to get 271 yards.

It's one of those games where offense and defense equally sucked.

Offense kept stomping on its dick with turnovers in our territory. We folded like a bad poker hand anytime we set foot in their territory.

Defense couldn't get off the field on 3rd down, cover their receivers (especially in the flats), manufacture pressure, or tackle well.

This isn't a T-Will or Bobby thing. Both of their squads sucked ass tonight.

As I said many times during the game, we looked like a team that spent the last two weeks taking it easy, reading our press clippings, and getting our asses kissed. That's a hallmark of she Pittman era. Instead of enjoying the Tennessee win for 24 hours and then refocusing on the next opponent, we dwelled on it and milked the hell out of it.

Quote from: RazorB on Oct 19, 2024, 09:51 PMI know you didn't ask me but they really still hold onto the 9th in potential that was written for Broyles to say when Nutt was coach.

I'm not lying. When we had game day in 2006 it was "so much extra work than normal".  That was actually said to me.

After Royal stepped down at Texas he told fans they ought to be happy just going to a bowl game.

I think a lot of the older guys didn't want to see Arkansas successful unless it was from someone handpicked or that viewed them as important. Outsiders would have more pull and it would become their program.

I agree with this.

Even if Broyles was right, that we're 8 in potential, you cannot let that mindset permeate throughout the program and department. Then it becomes self fulfilling, or as we've seen, self defeating and that potential drops even further.

That comment always bothered me, should bother any razorback fan.

I don't think the higher ups want to win, they just think they do. In reality, they're pessimistic and always playing catch up, settling for less

No more telling example then how we've hired coaches historically and handled NIL.

Quote from: HogOfWar on Oct 19, 2024, 09:49 PMWell, they don't hate to lose.

I think  the PTB just want to look pretty and be part of the team like Hunter when we win and no where to be seen when we lose.

They definitely don't seem to care about building on success or hold coaches feet to the fire when we lose.

They blame fans who raise their voices and beg for hand outs at the same time. Fuck'em.

And this is the key.  Everyone wants to win.  But the greats, including predementia JFB, Jimmy Johnson, Bear Bryant, Saban, Belichik have a far larger fear and loathing of losing. That is what drives their winning ways.

So while everyone wants to win, most are not willing to do the extra work to actually do it.  And losing begats more losing as complacency takes root.  The players get paid and laid whether they win or lose.  The coaches don't get fired, the big $ parties invites still come, the media still fawns for access.  Losing ain't so bad.  We tried hard.  The kids are really fine young men. Yada yada yada.  Losers.

On the bright side, at least we don't have to pay a dime to the SEC office this week!    :leo:
Things of that nature

This is the part of the season where we lose to State next week bad, look respectable but lose to Ole Miss, then beat Texas and let Pit and the press act like that makes it all okay.

And we'll probably rush the field and pay more at that game.

Well put.  It's been obvious that no one on the staff demands excellence from the players and that has to be because no one in the AD's office or higher demands excellence from the staff.  Demanding excellence means having to jump up their ass when they don't perform, and we just can't be doing that to these keeids who are playing hard football.

We want some close games, we want to even win one of those close games against a "big" team once in awhile, but otherwise we want to leave the starters in a losing effort so we can claim that they played hard to the final whistle.  They think the fans are retarded bags of money.  Yurachek has more fun telling fans to donate to put Slobberhog back on the basketball court - something he should have done anyway - than he does telling the coaches to put a product on the field that fans will want to donate to.

We've always been a basketball school.  At least starting in the 70s.

Baseball is pretty salty too.

We're not a baseball school until we do what 75 percent of the other SEC programs have done and win a national championship.

This.

Ole Miss winning a title made me question why I keep doing this to myself each baseball season.

Tennessee winning a title might have been the nail in the coffin.

Baseball is flirting with football territory in terms of my apathy until something finally happens.

I noticed that Harris was at right tackle and the usual starter was either out of the game or had moved the guard but I didn't hear anybody talk about it anyway our line play sucked
"I got fired for using free speech" yea imagine getting killed over it

What was/is so fucking infuriating was how Sam Pittman just strolled the sidelines like nothing fucking mattered.
Fuck the football program. Until they start really caring about building a winning program, creating a culture that matches the passion of their fans, they can all fuck off. I'm done investing my emotions and finances for this ROI.

Pittman should have been fired after last year.

The fact that we deemed 4-8 acceptable in year 4 after the slide we experienced in 2022 is insane to me. Any program with any semblance of pride in itself would have canned him.

Caring about winning and knowing HOW to win are two different things. I think we want to win, we just don't know how.
Well, shit...
