"Hunter, I just want you to know that I love coaching these keeids and that this will be my last coaching job no matter how things work out."

"Cool, here's a raise."

"What?  No, I mean it I am not going anywhere else."

"You want a buyout too!?  Fine, here."
"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar the first time his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Once authored a post that critics claimed, "Was notaslibro level."

Quote from: Feral on Oct 21, 2024, 10:31 AMThis is also the point in the season where Pittman usually loses the locker room and the team starts phoning it in.

Happened in 2022 and 2023, so we're right on schedule for it this year.

We have at least one coach on the sidelines who wouldn't let that happen if he were in charge.

This team needs a few full metal Fridays to end a lot of the quitting.

I'm not as worried about the offense being overcome with quit. Petrino won't suffer that shit and Green is by all accounts a better leader than KJ (though the bar was on the floor).

The defense is what I worry about. There's not a lot of true leadership on that side of the ball. After they held their own against Bama, Ole Miss and Mississippi State last year, they folded up and laid a turd against Florida, Auburn, and Mizzou.

Like I said, I expect MSU to play really really well as that they are improving and really looking at this game as their last realistic chance to get a conference win.  With a brand new coach, they are still hopeful and have something to prove.  I don't think our team is in the same spot with Sam.

Petrino was pretty good with the sorts of trap games.  There were several times we started out flat but found ways to gut it out and win.  Vanderbilt comes to mind.  Sam has been the exact opposite.  Let's see if having BMFP on staff makes a difference.

I'm about to the point where I hope we lose so we can get rid of Pittman.

If we lose to MSU, that's where I'll be.

We'll beat Tech unless the team is in full on quit mode, so 5-7 might do it. Lose to State and still finishing 6-6 would mean we beat 1 of Ole Miss, Texas, and Mizzou.

Of course, that'd be right on brand for Pittman seeing as how in 2022 he lost to Liberty and then beat the shit out of Ole Miss 2 Weeks later.

We ain't beating either of those three. Of course I also said we weren't beating the Vols, so.....

That's a pretty damn good synopsis.

Honest assessment: we didn't expect to be all that good this year.  Most of us were hoping for 6 or 7 wins.

We have three losses, all to teams ranked in the top 10 at one point. 2 of those were winnable.

Okie lite was way overrated, but not a scrub.

We can beat Miss st, la tech, and Missouri and get to 7 wins.

We are who we thought we were.

If we get to 7 wins, we will be better than I thought we were. I guess I have really given up on football for the past few years. SSDD.

Okie Lite is 0-3 in the depleted Big 12.  They are a scrub.  Gundy is actually under some heat.  He will never get fired over there but he is taking some flak.

Ahem, 0-4 and dead last in the Big 12.

I stand corrected, they have a long way to go to be considered good enough to be a scrub team.

I think if we had beaten OK St, and still lost to A&M/LSU, fans would be a lot less furious. We'd be 5-2 with a top 5 win and two loses to the top two teams in the conference this year. We'd be talking about how much better our offense will be next year after Bobby's had another year to improve things, etc.

But we didn't beat OSU. We lost. We gave up a big lead and wilted like daisies in july. We lost to one of the worst B12 teams this year, when we absolutely should have beaten them.

So we're 4-3 when we should be 5-2. It's only a one game difference, but it's justifiable fury, imo.

Pretty typical Sam team.  We literally invented ways to lose that game because you know...that's what we do.

Anybody notice Coach Cal just walk off after he and the basketball team were introduced at the LSU game?  I'm pretty sure they were supposed to lead a Hog Call "join the basketball Hogs in calling those Hogs" but Cal just gave a polite wave and turned and walked off after he was introduced.
Cal ain't got no time to lead a Hog call.  :D

He does a great job of showing the plays that were there but not made.  It really isn't a talent issue, it's an execution and coaching issue mostly.

The Matt Harris segments are exceptionally good. He apparently learned a thing or two about defense growing up in the household of a six-time Pro Bowl, Hall of Fame, free safety.

DJ was completely wrong on the targeting call, saying he thought it was clean. Completely ignoring the fact that a) the defender launched himself and b) made forcible contact to the facemask with his helmet.

The fact that targeting call was reversed, is completely inexcusable. Fuckery afoot as many have already pointed out.
