These talking heads aren't worth a cup of warm piss when it comes to blathering on about these guys. Just say you heard he's good and that's it.

They're talking Acuff as possible #5 overall.  That means at least 4 teams are going to seriously fuck up in the draft.

Let's start with Acuff, an explosive scoring guard with concerns about his size and defense at the next level. His final two months of the season, which included an SEC tournament title run, won over a lot of people around the NBA, but those shortcomings will make team construction and fit a pivotal factor.

"Just the shotmaking, killer instinct he has shown, his ability to score at all three levels," an East executive said. "His defense does worry me some, but he has had to carry a pretty large load."

"I think there's never been a worse time to build around bad defensive guards," a West executive said. "We see this time and time again -- the flashiest offensive impact in the draft doesn't necessarily end up winning the most.

I would love to see Dallas get him. He and Flagg would be a show.

it's like they forget they are looking at a kid that's 1 year removed from high school who just got done playing a freshman season in the SEC without much backend defensive support. Maybe the kid plays shitty defense...idk i feel like everything indicates he's a TOP 5 pick and plenty of tape to prove it. Top 10 at worse. No he's not Gary Payton.

The size thing is really interesting too....the guy is built pretty decent but no he's not 6-7/220lbs. There are countless examples of guards his size having great success. I can see being concerned he's just another Marbury type that's gonna score a lot but not amount to much but you can probably say that about a lot of these guys. Everything else screams TOP 5 pick and when did we stop drafting on potential? How many stiffs have been drafted in the TOP 5 based on potential when everyone could clearly see they were stiffs. The league was litered with them for a while. Mostly Euro guys that just weren't very good.

i love the kid, but his defense was not great and i know "they don't play defense in the nba" but they kinda do. he got blown by a lot when guys drove from the top of the lane.

also some of the teams drafting at the top aren't looking for point guards so if he goes #5-10, it's not a terrible thing.

I think he has the physical makeup to play good defense and I bet he's willing to learn. We just didn't have enough players to try to play lock down defense. I don't know that he can't, just that he hasn't.

The Whyte Boar

I told you a few weeks ago that watching him in warmups he never missed 3 pointers.  I predict that in the pros he will settle down and be a lot better shooter than he was in the pros.

vegashog

the 'insiders' still think he'll be back, but like they say, it only takes one team to fall in love with you.

they do suspect thomas has a deal lined up.

Abdou Toure got bumped up to a consensus 5 star.

Ok, I recognized all but 4.

Who is between Stewart & Thurman?

Who is to the left of Lee Wilson?

Who are the two between Engskov and Biley?

Lee Wilson should have gone into professional wrestling. He's huge.

Still owe these guys a beer. I had been in Maine for about a year (USAF) when the squadron had the unofficial bracket challenge. I was the only soul that had Arkansas winning it all. I used the winning proceeds to purchase a Genesis II (NTSC model) and NHL 94'  :))

That's Ray Biggers between Stewart and Thurman.

To the left of Lee is both Craig Tyson and Elmer Martin. Tyson never played that season because of injury. Elmer was locked up for the first reunion they did in 2009 and the Final Four teams reunion in 2014. But he's been to the rest.
