Let's start with ridiculous buyouts schools have saddled themselves up with.

Kirby Smart $118 million
Kalen DeBoer $70 million
Mike Norvell $63 million
Brian Kelly $61 million
Dabo Swinney $60 million
James Franklin $56 million
Matt Rhule $56 million
Steve Sarkisiam $55 million
Dan Lanning $45 million
Brent Venables $44 million
Mark Stoops $44 million
Jedd Fisch $40 million
Luke Fickell $40 million
Jonathan Smith $39 million
Jeff Brohm $39 million
Josh Heupel $37 million
Ryan Day $37 million
Lane Kiffin $36 million
Kirk Ferentz $31 million
Chris Klieman $29 million
Bret Bielema $29 million
Greg Schiano $28 million
Eli Drinkwitz $28 million
Lance Leipold $27 million
Mike Elko $27 million
Billy Napier $26 million
Mike Gundy $25 million
PJ Fleck $23 million
Hugh Freeze $20 million
Willie Fritz $19 million

No worries.  Sam could lose out and will be back.   Yuri don't have the bucks to play at the big table yet.

All of these schools need to get together and sign a pact that says no buyout for coaches.

Your program shouldn't be wrecked because you fired a losing coach. Half their salaries for 6 months, that's it.
I'm sorry Elvis......for all of it.

That just proves there are a lot of ADs who suck at negotiating and have zero business skills.

And I bet all of them are making over $1 mill a year too.
Check your damn blood pressure!

Norvell - that has to hurt for FSU

I don't understand how the market is so hard up for coaches that buyouts without much in the way of attached performance clauses are the norm for the industry.  It is halfway through November and FSU is still looking for their second win but it would cost $60+ mil to get rid of him.  He had only had success at Memphis before then.

I guess it is like NFL QBs.  There are only about half as many as there are needed so everybody is hoping to lock in the scarcity.  The fact that the population is .500 every year hides some mediocre coaches each year so places end up making hires like us.

North Carolina has fired Mack Brown.  Didn't really see that coming.
Apparently retarded member of the "fucking old people" crowd as defined by Swahili Steve.

Has won 8 more games at NC than Sam has over the last 5 years.

Apparently NC doesn't like mediocrity.

vegashog

so he's fired but coaching this weekend? i guess they'll put up with mediocrity one more week.

didn't he go thru something like this at texass?

There were reports from Bevo at Texas that Mack would sneak into his stall late at night and violate him.  Bevo said this some years back when interviewed on the Ticket.
I mean, why would Bevo lie?

Is it his coaching at NC, or something else.  Don't they use a sheep as a mascot?

Doc Hogaday

I remember they made Muschamp the coach-in-waiting which meant the writing was on the wall, but then Muschamp took the Florida job after a year of that designation and Mack coached 2 or 3 unremarkable seasons before "resigning". Only to hire Charlie Strong which led to Bobby back to Louisville.

Look guys, not everyone has an ace in the hole interim like Reggie Herring to come in and save the day.
Pants ironed and back for more

Are you speaking in terms of coaching or violating sheep or both?

Bevo still carries the scars.  His victimization is not respected in the rest of the herd.  The other steers consider him a homo.
