Winningest coach in NC history and has them bowl eligible this year, and they still have the balls to push him out.

Meanwhile we can't muster the testicular fortitude to part from Sam despite him accomplishing jack shit here.

Maybe they're the ones making a bad decision?

vegashog

after the james madison loss he told the team was probably retiring at the end of the season and their recruiting has tanked ever since. they are behind the likes of miami-ohio, sdsu, fau, georgia st., east carolina, unlv. he gave them no choice but to 'fire' him. it wasn't about the win-loss record. he'd quit.

Given they hired Geoff Collins as their DC, the probability of that is a lot closer to 1 than 0.
Splash 11! drop ABE track, too confusing

Are we an impressive enough of a program these days to even make a run at someone like the Vandy coach or would he be counseled to wait for a better offer?

vegashog

jerry kill and the players he brought over from nm state deserve a lot of credit, imo.

that said, if vandy holds on, lea should be sec coach of the year despite their record.

He's an alum.  Doubt he leaves for anything other than a blue blood, if at all.
Perish peacefully in a warm environment.

Ohio State fires Day, Pittman retires with his new bionic hip, and Yurachek gets in one last flashy hire before he moves on to South Carolina.

Getting owned by your rivals is a prerequisite for our job.

Day would recruit better than Sam. As far as wins, the bar is not very high right now.
Check your damn blood pressure!

Apparently the majority of our fans feel like 6-6 is the best we can hope for anyway, and we should just feel lucky being at a big kid party.

what majority of the fans? the majority of the fans don't control the money.

Something has to change, the program has too much apathy.  Fans are going to stop renewing and you can forget NIL money.

Our stupid administration is never proactive about anything. Only reactive.

While other programs get ahead of NIL, we slow play it and our media chuds like Irwin refer to it as "cheating" in the early days.

We never cut bait with a bad coach early, we wait a year too late for him to burn the program to the ground in a year everyone saw coming.

We never hire the hot up and comer everyone knows will be a success. We pass on him for someone coasting on the downside of their career.

Literally everyone can see what next year is going to be like with Pittman in terms of win-loss and fan apathy. But we won't make a change now and will instead kick the can down the road and suffer through an embarrassing 2025 season (that literally everyone can see coming) and thus make our job less attractive.

Add in the fact that no major programs are hiring this year, so of course we are going to wait one more to see whether on not Pit Titts pays off.

Pitt brought us back to mediocrity from the utter abyss of the Morris era, and for that I'm grateful.

But we've seen the ceiling and 7-8 wins is it, in a good year.  Time to move on.

Pittman doesn't deserve that much credit, anybody could have done better with Morris's recruits.

Kept his job going 4-8 in year 4 of a SEC program.

Went 6-6 in year 5 finally fired (checks notes), and still keeps his job.

I guess we will see if the rats start escaping the ship. Surely someone needs some dudes off this staff.
