That's sure the way I read all the posts who want to hire someone that "makes a splash" or "gets everyone's attention" to prove we "serious" about football.

Because then, see , the NIL money will flow following such a hire.

NIL money will follow wins.  Wins will follow competent coaching.

I can't even imagine fan reaction if Sam came back without BP.

I'd think bmfp is getting paid about what Charlotte would pay him.  But with little nil to get a qb that will dampen it.  I don't see him going there.  Would not be surprised if he leaves.

he could always take the qb he wanted here.

DrMongoose

West Virginia, for whatever reason, will go hard after Odom.

He would probably have an easier path to the playoff at UNLV and if he can keep winning there is probably a lot of untapped money in Vegas for a winner.

Remember they bankrolled Tark back in the day when he was winning. The raiders aren't winning anytime soon.

So if Petrino goes and we follow the trend of hiring over qualified offensive coordinators with head coaching experience I think Mike Gundy would fit the bill. But we're more likely to hire Neal Brown and get what we get. Ok who am I kidding we're getting Barry Lunney Jr or Dowell Loggains as "coach in waiting" but double secret so nobody knows but everyone does.

There was a random dude on Facebook that took a photo of Petrino getting on a commercial flight to Charlotte. I'm sure that was legit.

Since it was from behind, someone needs to show it to Jessica Dorrell to confirm or deny accuracy.

West Virginia can be a good job. With Pat McAfee printing money these days, he would personally buy you 5 or 6 studs a year. Not to mention all the media exposure he could bring you. Kids eat that shit up. Read somewhere he is strongly supporting them bringing Rich Rod back.

Could see Rich Rod getting another shot in the bigs...he's been doing pretty good at Jacksonville State.

I've been out of the loop on this one.  What would the cause be to fire him?  Win-loss record or is there something Petrino-ish he may have done?

Barton Fink

Yeah but how old is he know?

Guessing the part about calling the fans that criticize him PWT and unable to pay their bills. 😂. Not sure though if that qualifies with cause.

Only cause I could come up with would be his comments he's made in the past year, his admission that he'd driven drunk 'hundreds of times' and then telling the fans they were all broke losers who couldn't pay their own bills for talking negative about the program.

Their lawyers could argue that these statements were damaging to the program and brought undue shame/embarrassment on it. He already had a clause in his contract with that after his OAN shirt debacle in '20.

57. Kids aren't coming home crying to mama for dropping passes in a pickup game anymore.

I'm still really confused about NIL. Can universities and/or their fund raising arms directly pay the coach and players out of the same money pool?

I mean I know our coaches get paid thru the state of Arkansas (technically) but a large sum is offset thru the Razorback Foundation. Is the Razorback Foundation also paying players thru NIL donations?

And what is the NIL? What company or entity is using anyone's name, image, or likeness for profit and advertising?

Not 100% sure either but on the surface it's a booster fund. If it can be used to help pay for a coach, I don't see how it couldn't pay for players.
