For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Maybe the contractor working on the saline river bridge on I-30 won't bid on it...

They are still working on that bridge???

It's been at least 3 years since I have gone through there and they were working on it then.

They went past the deadline sometime last year if I remember correctly, and are being fined something like $72k per day, every day it's not complete.  Last time I went through there, it was the middle of the day on a work day, and there were two people working.

At least they started on that one. The Key Bridge here in Maryland hasn't been touched since they opened the channels.

There is no bridge to declare open. Maybe the train is working though

You are correct about the deadline and I believe the penalty.  But it really isn't far away from being finished, I think.  Aren't they now saying Jan of 25, or something like that?

My OCD with all that is driving me nuts as they've got bridges built at different levels, lanes of traffic in opposite directions are different levels at segments making little or no sense. But yes I agree it looks like it's not too far away and that was 3 weeks ago for me. Mostly down to whatever they are doing in the big curve where in my lifetime I've seen multiple people die in a fire. I'm sure they are working overtime trying to make sure the tradition of that curve is upheld.

Cabot is going full retard with traffic circles akin to Conway from what I understand so the fun is just beginning. Right now the focus is on the highway and it seems to be going smoothly. I don't think that project will take very long. I do think there is plans to redo the highway further north at some point after this is done. So I'll have to look forward to construction for...ever. The only thing I'm wondering about is they are building the Golden Gate bridge over a creek apparently. Building up the highway about two feet in a area that I'm pretty sure hasn't flooded even when there was flooding in other areas.

Jacksonville is officially 49% complete. The James street bridge is due to open by the end of the month which should help a great deal. It's been very slow going because of all the utilities that had to be moved and moving over the outer roads. I knew that was going to be a job to do all that. Years ago they were talking like they would have to buy out a lot of businesses to make it happen. It appears to me they didn't do that at all...those businesses will just have a freeway in their face. Super. Bridge work at Vandenberg (AFB exit) has slowed but I think they are focusing on the lanes leading to it while they have good weather maybe? Not sure these road crews think that far ahead. Traffic getting into town in the morning can suck at times...when taking that Vandenberg exit and turning left onto the outer road people coming from Toneyville (aka Jabot) were not honoring the white stop stripe and were rolling thru and then honoring the light 30 yards later preventing highway traffic from turning left on their green light. Fucking morons. I've been taking the James street SB exit and driving down John Harden to the loop back to TP White and moving back up to James street driving 3 miles to go 1 but you don't have to stop but like once during this time. I'll take it.

I'm somewhat optimistic that the construction thru Jacksonville will pick up on the back half of this project. A lot of the slow and hard stuff is already done. They'll be a bridge added for Gregory street (near the old Sizzler) spanning over to in front of Harbor Freight and that's going to make traveling thru Jacksonville a lot nicer.

I think I-40 just outside Memphis into West Memphis is longest consecutive running construction zones in the world.

Milton just increased to category 4. Mandatory evacuations starting...storm surges up to 9 feet expected.
