We practiced twice a day and lifted weights in an unairconditioned field house on M,W,F at noon, so really 3 a day on those days. 
This was my sophomore year in high school.  That summer was BRUTAL hot.

We had an old house with cartridge type fuses on the air conditioner's electric hook up.  Kept blowing the fuses.  My wife was scared to try to replace them, and I was traveling a lot on business.  Luckily, we had an older friend that had worked for SWEPCO for many years.  He made numerous trips over to replace those fuses.

Today is overpay for a new air conditioner day.  I fully expect this streak of excessive heat to stop tomorrow now.
