I busted a hydraulic line on my tractor yesterday day while moving hay. It broke down in the middle of the pasture. I had to take multiple 10 minute breaks on a 2 minute job.

I went out this afternoon simply to vacuum my car and clean the floor mats and was dripping sweat all over my car after 5 fucking minutes. Very annoying.

I went out and fired up the chainsaw.  Cut up the tops of two of the trees from April, cut a dozen blocks for splitting, hauled it all to the side yard and split it, then My dumb ass started a fucking fire with two of the stumps and the tops.  I fired my leaf blower up to stoke the fire, and after a couple minutes of that it felt cool when I'd step away...

I had a good friend who took a job in Appleton several years ago. He moved from NWA in June and taunted me throughout the summer and autumn with weather reports of cool summer breezes and crisp autumn afternoons.

One January morning he called me to tell me he was quitting his job and moving back to Arkansas. On that lovely subzero morning, it seems he had jumped in his car to drive to work, started the vehicle (thanks to the obligatory engine block heater), grabbed the wheel and...proceeded to have it snap in half in his hands.

It is possible I chortled.

When I was working I had Kohler, Rockline, and Fleet Farm in the Sheboygan area.  The November and February business reviews sucked.  I'd try to schedule them remotely, but no dice.  Miserable place in the winter.

After the heat stroke I'd settle for less than 100.  Anything over 85 starts giving me actual headaches.  Still prefer this over anywhere where it's cold enough to break the steering wheel.

The midwest has shit weather.  It's always wild to me that when I've been to Nebraska and Iowa in the summer, it's just as hot there as it is here--sometimes hotter.  And those bastards probably still have snow on the ground until May.

Just moved back to southern Illinois and it's way hotter than the hill country of Virginia.
Something a local told me that I didn't know..an acre of corn can release several thousand gallons of water into the atmosphere in a single day. It's called corn sweats, and it really adds to the humidity.

0 degrees and 100 degrees feel the same everywhere. But, those other 99 degrees are wayyy affected by the humidity and I'm convinced that SE Arkansas is that perfect nexus of Texas heat and gulf moisture. In 2011, the heat index was 133 with an actual temperature of 112.
