My worst experience. 

Right after Christmas 2012's ice in Central Arkansas I went back to managing the night shift contractors at the St. Gobain plant construction between Bryant and Bauxite.  No power in the office. The subarc welders had to add extra heaters to the long seam on the rotary kiln they were putting together and I think they spent half the night just putting up tarps to get out of the wind and propane heaters to stay alive. It was so cold their only job was to START preheating the seam so the day crew could get the weld started later. The electricians were mostly from Green Bay and those dipshits are walking around in long-sleeve t-shirts talking about Arkansas finally getting some "proper" weather.  No one else bothered showing up.

I think to that point it was one of the coldest recorded nights in Arkansas history.  That kind of cold where no amount of clothing layers can warm you up.

Snow models now shifting north according to Youtuber Max Velocity...but that doesn't mean ice won't be a huge factor. Just the threat of ice will have this state shut down for 3 days.

When I lived in KCMO there were times it would WARM UP to 13 degrees and we wore short sleeves...many times I'd go to high school with snow on the ground in Al Dillard shorts but I was a skater back then and it was different times.

I don't know if we are even going to have winter this year.  It's the middle of January, I need to mow, and lots of years spring starts in February anyway.  Looking at the long range stuff does not show any serious cold snaps coming.

We lived in the Spring Lake Park area during that storm. I remember hearing tree limbs snapping and transformers blowing all evening. 12 year old me thought it was pretty cool outside of not being able to get on my computer.

My son and I were supposed to go duck hunting on Dec 26.  The season opened back up.  We actually got up and loaded our stuff to go.  I threw a chain saw in my pickup and we thought we were going to Millwood.  Had to use the chainsaw 2 times in the first two blocks just to get down the street within 3 blocks of my house. The large metal poles holding up power lines on State Line Avenue bent to the ground under the weight.  We drove everywhere we could around town.  Total devastation.  No power anywhere.Could hear a few generators working, at Wadley Hospital, etc. Never seen anything like it.

No clue what you're talking about with my hair. Pretty sure every picture posted of me I had a Hog hat on. I guess you can blame your apps for being wrong about that too. Since Dec of 1988 I have had a medium skin fade (once my hair grew back from the shave) with the top being about 1 1/2 inches long.

I must say it is quite cute that you're so worried about another man's looks. Not that there's anything  wrong with that.

I don't think people are focusing on the real issue with this storm. It's an infrastructure issue...memba Texas the other year. People will be left weeks without power. Could shut down  refineries and water systems and a few LNG terminals if it goes far enough south. You in that pink band of straight up ice...go ahead and sign off now and start preparing. Don't end up like wallyhog dead
