Quote from: Texzilla on May 16, 2023, 11:55 PMThe OKC weather guys are over the top vs anywhere else.  Crazy kinds of radar, they all have teams of storm chasers tracking every supercell.  "We now have Val and Amy at the supercell over Bowlegs, Oklahoma.  Val and Amy in the Hahn Appliance Silverado StormTruck!" " Dave it's on the fuckin ground in downtown Bowlegs! It's headed to the high school and just hammered the fuckin Weed Depot and the Curl Up and Dye hair salon!"

On Friday they were so disappointed that all the storms just petered out.  "It's not a dangerous storm!! Just quarter sized hail.  Sadly we're returning to Blue Bloods.  Hopefully one of these cells that just popped up near Wynnewood turn into something worth interrupting your programming.  Tell Pedro in the Bud's Quality Roofing Weatherforce Kia to go home!"
Same over here. They have to show you all their gadgets. "Let's see how high the clouds are." "Let's show you how many lightning strikes there are." "This red shows wind away from the storm and the green shows wind going towards the storm." I don't give a shit about any of that. Just tell me where the storm is going to hit. They seriously sometimes have to stop and take a breath. Continuous talking.
Well, shit...

I'll take what we've got coming up. 5% humidity until Tuesday.

Haven't been here in almost a decade. Made the drive with the family and we rented a place on the lake for a week.  We've had rain and now hail for 3/4 days we've been here.

Too Big Pig

Have friends in Hot Springs. Several photos of baseball size hail and busted car windows.

Fortunately, I didn't get to town till a few minutes after the storm had moved out.  There are lots of pictures of much bigger hail stones floating around on the internet.

Supposed to be another toad strangler headed this way tonight. Dear baby Jesus, please no more hail.
The same people demanding everyone embrace your beliefs, have zero tolerance and condemn another for embracing theirs.  Oh, the irony.

Major hail storm here in Denver last night. Was crazy with flash flooding and hail off and on all night. RR was crazy...80 plus people injured and several taken to the hospital

Yep. I'm not trying to be a dick about it. It could have lived. It didn't. Not by my choice. -Elvis

Bunch of pussies.

I got caught in a hailstorm in RMNP about 20 years ago while on a horseback ride.  We were 4 hours out and pretty high up when it started.  It was just me and my wife and the guide from the stable.  We took shelter under a pinion pine and then lightning struck and my fucking horse broke loose and ran offt, dragging half a fucking tree behind him.

Fuck that horse.  Fuck that hail storm. Fuck a bunch of lightning.
Wrangler dude went back to get another horse and I wasn't crazy about waiting 8 hours on his return and then another 4 hour ride back in the dark, so I just walked back.

Years ago when I still lived in Springdale, I awoke one Sunday morning to the sound of 10,000 gorillas pounding on my roof with sledgehammers. Looked out the window to find baseball-sized hail coming down so fast our swimming pool looked like someone was hosing it down with a Ma Deuce.

It only lasted 3 or 4 minutes but completely destroyed our roof and totaled my brand new pickup. I can only imagine what hailstones that size would do to someone's noggin.
