Hope it hails and there is a tornado if so

Gonna need more than that to take down something I designed and built.

Also I don't f with Greenfield and whatever other Chinesey people are buying the grain.  Hard to argue against the half-billion or so they have lined up to build new shipping terminals - they're serious about taking our food, and we're making it easy for them to do it.

In the (not exact) words of Hunter Thompson, I was worried about sweating so much. I went to my doctor and told him about all the stuff I did when I was younger. He looked at me horrified and told me to come back when I QUIT sweating.
Well, shit...

For it being 80 and  sunny with a breeze, I have never sweated like I did in Denver yesterday.
Last Sunday at City of Colleges in Conway was the hottest I have ever been on a ball field including gulf shores. Unreal.
Check your damn blood pressure!

it's higher up so you burn and fry quicker. I'm not there but heard the hail storm and flood last night cancelled all the fireworks
Yep. I'm not trying to be a dick about it. It could have lived. It didn't. Not by my choice. -Elvis

Shit load of corn lost to straight line winds up north. Also heard 2-3 commercial grain terminals were flattened.

How much did they get in the Sierra Nevada this year? Well... Some Mammoth slopes are estimated to still open till the end if July. Tioga RD from Lee Vining thru Yosemite is still not open with no firm opening time frame given.

Last time I was there it was closed and that was in 2000.  They need to work on that.
Maybe they need a bypass.

Still 105 here in Houston.

We have not had rain since beginning of June.

This summer has been different.  I've lived down here for 20+ years now and we have never had a summer like this.   It has been a solid 6 weeks of temps over 100.  I can't recall one time in the past when the temps hit 107 and this summer that has been multiple days over many multiple weeks.

Now, other than the grass looks dead and the trees are dropping leaves like crazy, if you spend time outdoors like I do you can't tell it's really hotter.  I was talking to a sprinkler guy this morning about it.  He said the same thing.  It's hot, but since he is outside all day every day it doesn't bother him.

We both agreed that we feel bad for the Mr Potato Heads who are a biscuit shy of 3 bills.   Those folks are dying right now.

Right now there are no signs of fall.

The Tonga underwater volcano eruption in 2022 sent a shitload of water vapor into the upper atmosphere.  That has influenced temps and will for the next couple years.

It isn't really being talked about in weather/news much because it might interfere with the man-made climate change narrative.

Viking cruise line now does the Mississippi River. They dock in Memphis. I talked to a guy today that works for a company that goes down and sucks all the shit out of the boat. He said one of the workers on the ship said they are averaging about 2 heat related evacuations a day from people falling out in the heat in the South. Those foreigners just can't handle this kind of heat.
Well, shit...

Jesus it's like 1000% humidity outside. I'm going back into the house. I was going to mow but I may just wait till October.

Do they have a high-stakes poker tournament during the cruise?

Forget about selling ice to Eskimos. Viking must have the best marketing team in the world if they can convince Europeans to take a cruise from New Orleans to Memphis.

Yeah, today feels like the hottest day of the year. Brutally hot.  I've got to talk myself into doing a little yardwork this evening.

Lake is still nice and cool. Texas is going to run out of water. They will be fucked.

pigtacular

Yeah, it was my most miserable mow of the year.

Mowed to 80% of completion.  Good enough.
The very pants I was returning.

You would be surprised at what they expect out of an "American Experience".  Good friends of ours are from the UK and we always laugh our asses off when they have friends or family come visit.  They want to see the "Great Prairie of Oklahoma" or go to a major league baseball game and watch a shitty Royals team take on Detroit in front of 3000 fans.  Being able to jump into an 80 degree lake blows their minds.
