That construction zone is a complete debacle. Whoever that subcontractor is should be run out of the state. Had more potholes after this flooding that had about 17 cars lined up on the side of the interstate with flats. This is at least the 3rd time this has happened.
The same people demanding everyone embrace your beliefs, have zero tolerance and condemn another for embracing theirs.  Oh, the irony.

I had to replace two runflats on the same trip through that area, and had to get another regular tire patched on a different trip.  Fucking ridiculous...do these fuckers not own a magnet?

is there ever a time when that portion of the interstate ain't under construction?
Yep. I'm not trying to be a dick about it. It could have lived. It didn't. Not by my choice. -Elvis

Not in recent memory.

The sad thing is, it looks like they're going to roll right into the next section as soon as this is done.  They are already clearing trees and prepping for additional lanes.  And honestly the entire stretch between LR and Texarkana needs to be expanded...it's just going to suck while the construction is happening.

Yep taking it to exit 99 next.

With all the additional freight coming out of Mexico, 30 is going to be a mess forever.

It seems like half the trucks I pass on that road have most of their signage in Spanish.

We really need the governor to issue an emergency order banning trucks from the left lane between Texarkana and Benton, and between NLR and West Memphis.  You will spend more time going below the speed limit behind some asshole trucker on either of those roads than you will driving normally.

I'd put $1000 on the over if Oaklawn or Saracen would take the bet.

same for between LR and memphis it's just as bad. They should build a designated lane that all semi's have to stay in unless passing. I hate them

Do you take a different route from NLR to W. Memphis than you do from LR to Memphis?

I misread didn't see you put w memphis on there. But yes sometimes I take 64 from LR to home because my dad lives off 64 and it's just better on my health than driving 40. I get too hot headed and road rage when I drive 40

FWIW, I was told this morning that the bolts on the metal plates on the inside lanes were sticking up and causing flats, but that may be just be an ongoing issue and not just because of the rain. Had a truck driver come in here that said he saw at least 20 cars on the shoulder with flat tires. Potholes are obviously a problem as well.

He may have been exaggerating a little, but it's bad.

The plates are especially bad on the eastbound side.

If you get a flat, you can charge it to the subcontractor for bullshit like that.

The wife broke a strut in that stretch. You can't just replace one either.
