This is awful are they gonna fix it or just continue to let it sit. I see in the comments people trying to file claims against the ARDOT and Johnson brothers or whatever the company responsible

It fascinates me how long it takes to build a highway in Arkansas.  Yes, I know everything that goes into it because paving has been a specialty in my career.  People in Oklahoma think their roads get built slow, but they would have had that I-30 work just outside of Benton done last year.
"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar the first time his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Have they blocked the lanes at least with cones so people don't destroy their cars? I hear chenal is just as bad

I was driving with someone today and slowed down to avoid hitting a pothole too fast. The guy was like..."how did you know to slow down". I retort I fucking look ahead and see the pothole and look for the lesser of all the evils for a path least likely to produce a discomfort in my ass or injury to the vehicle.
"I got fired for using free speech" yea imagine getting killed over it

The bizarre part was ARDOT(or their contractor)finished the hwy 70 expansion very quickly.
The very pants I was returning.

The company doing the I30 bridge project in a Little Rock started way after that saline county project and are much farther along, and that's across the Arkansas river!
I hope somebody sues the contractor doing the one here the next time someone gets killed in their death trap. It's like whoever is running that project is tired of it and they'll get it done eventually when they feel like it.

The same people demanding everyone embrace your beliefs, have zero tolerance and condemn another for embracing theirs.  Oh, the irony.

ARDOT relies on blind luck to find the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. They got Kiewit (I think) doing I-30 over the river because ARDOT themselves probably have no clue how they would have accomplished that job. Anywhere else and they think their own shit doesn't stink so the project will work out no matter who they hire.

Oklahoma DOT had to get taken over by the Feds for awhile before they started acting right.

That was McGeorge. They do great work!

Redstone is doing this one. I heard they are getting fined $70k daily. 30 was a shitshow last night. Took me and hour and 45 to get to Hot Springs. Another inch and a half probably overnight tonight. Gotta feeling any recent work they did will get washed out.

For the last couple of years, when I need to go to Hot Springs from Little Rock, I just take the Stagecoach Rd exit off of I-430 and go down Hwy 5 to Frontage road which runs into Hwy 70.  It takes about 5-10 minutes longer, but it is so much less stressful.

Kiewit is very good at their craft also.

Highway dept takes the lowest bidder 95% of the time, just like every other gov entity. It is the law.

Even that is backed up forever lately.
