Just for fun I had Grok go through all the tiebreakers assuming the most likely favored teams win on Saturday to determine the final seeding of the tournament.  There will be a logjam at 10-8 if that happens.  It warms my heart to know that Kentucky would be playing in Wednesday night sadness.

The seeding for the top ten teams in the 2026 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament, based on the provided final conference records and applying the official SEC tiebreaker procedures (head-to-head results, records against higher-seeded teams, and NET rankings where necessary to resolve remaining ties), would be as follows:

1.Florida (16-2)
2.Alabama (13-5)
(Wins head-to-head tiebreaker over Arkansas.)
3.Arkansas (13-5)
4.Tennessee (12-6)
5.Texas A&M (11-7)
6.Georgia (10-8)
(In the five-way tie at 10-8, Georgia and Texas have the highest winning percentage (.600) in games among the tied teams. Between them, records are identical through head-to-head (1-1 split) and vs. higher seeds (both 0% vs. Florida, 100% vs. Alabama); Georgia gets the edge based on a higher NET ranking.)
7.Texas (10-8)
8.Missouri (10-8)
(Next in the tie with a .500 winning percentage among the tied teams.)
9.Vanderbilt (10-8)
(In the remaining tie at .400 among the tied teams, Vanderbilt and Kentucky split head-to-head (1-1); both 0% vs. Florida, but Vanderbilt wins the next tiebreaker with 100% vs. Alabama (compared to Kentucky's 0%).)
10.Kentucky (10-8)

Perish peacefully in a warm environment.

Quote from: Sus-Scrofa on Mar 04, 2026, 09:39 PMI don't really care about the tourney, but a revenge tour through Bama and Florida would be a good time.

We aren't built to successfully do that in three days, but it would be fun to see.
I want no part of Florida. They are a nightmare matchup for us.

Absolutely everything lines up the other way for tomorrow:  (1) Mizzou bad loss last game. (2) Arkansas good win last game. (3) Mizzou at home. (4) We already beat them once, revenge factor. (5) Mizzou more to play for, we are a 2 or 3 in the SECT no matter what happens, and those are flip-flop positions where we get Bama the next game if we both win. And last but not least, (6) I will be there.

Here's hoping I'm wrong.

I figure whatever mental gremlins control Brazile's mind will be fired up for the game.

Pig Benis

I agree that it feels like a letdown spot but we're a 2.5 point favorite.
The Lord wants you to put your foot on their balls and believe in it. 'Cuz that's what wins football games. Not jumping offsides like a bunch of wimps and faggots. I don't care what those pinkos over in Russia say. You want to be a loser? You go live in Russia. I'm a winner. I'm an American.

Add this to your list, Acuff is doubtful for the game. That may be a good thing, since we have the double bye locked, but i guess it depends on the reason.

All in all I would rather rest him IF it will improve his leg/ankle for the postseason. DJ will have to be the man.

Rothstein just tweeted that and said the reason is "undisclosed"

we're the projected #1 5 seed. a loss tomorrow in a quad 1 road game won't drop us to a 6. let him rest.

still want to beat the meth heads tho.

Barton Fink

Don't mind it if the kid needs a rest.

I've been hoping we win out through next Saturday on the slim chance we could bump up to a 4. But I agree, if he needs rest let him rest.

He's not playing.  Resting him for the stretch run.  No one other than the fans give a fuck about beating Missouruh.

Yeah I have no problem with it at all. It's the smart play. I'm surprised Darius agreed to it.

It will be good for DJ to get some confidence going into the tournament. He had a good game against Texas.

Acuff and Knox both out vs Mizzou

Just beat Mizzou on the road, Louisville is still at halftime, yet we dropped a spot in Kenpom to 17, and they moved up a spot to 16.

Makes total sense.
