Kendall's dad came up and spoke to us when we went to Kentucky last year. It started on Friday and he continued it the whole weekend. He seemed like a great guy, so it is easy to see where Kendall gets it from.

After one of the games where my parents, sister and brother-in-law took my nephews up for a couple of years ago, Kendall was sitting downstairs in the lobby at the Staybridge signing autographed baseballs for kids.  They said he couldn't have been more engaging and down to earth.  I've always pulled for him just because he treated those boys so well.

I was a bit surprised that Dave didn't put in McEntire to pitch and Diggs as a defensive sub in RF for the 9th since they've been there so long and put in so much time and effort to the program, even though their final years didn't go as they'd hoped.

It almost has to be the 6PM time slot.  Probably the two biggest fan bases in terms of college baseball interest in one game, versus UCLA vs. Duke/Murray State winner. 

So in other words, 1pm on Saturday.

In the press conference DVH did mention that he thought about putting in a sub for Maxwell, but wanted to leave him out there so that he could celebrate on the field.

Maxwell definitely deserved that moment after the series he had.  And I didn't realize that Foutch hadn't pitched at all since the end of the regular season. It made sense to get him a low pressure inning...we'll need him in Omaha if we go very deep.

Hindsight is 20/20 and all, but we could've sat Thomas, slid Davalan to CF, and had Diggs play LF.

I definitely understand wanting to give Foutch some work before Omaha since he hadn't pitched since Hoover, but I would've loved to have seen Foutch in the 8th and then Mac in the 9th.

Definitely, but it's not as bad as losing early in the regional.  At least there are off days.

It's worth noting that Aloy is the only Golden Spikes finalist headed to Omaha after Doyle (Tennessee) and Lodise (FSU) both got knocked out yesterday.

I greatly appreciate it. I have a couple of hobbies that consume me in the spring and I rely on the pbp to keep up with the team. Being able to spend a few minutes reading it the next day keeps me connected. Hats off.
