I never played baseball beyond park rec, I assume that's gotta be one of the best feelings in sports.  A walk off bomb when you've been in a slump.

It went from a bad at-bat to a very good one. Quick 0-2 hole after the bunt foul at a pitch at head level, then three fouls wrapped around one pitch that missed. He squared up the last three pitches. One fouled straight back, then he barely got on top of the one he drilled into his foot. Then the glorious bomb.

I yield to few in my love for DVH, but he definitely seems like he hasn't had a good feel for much this year.

His lineup moves, pitching rotation decisions, and situational moves have been odd and questionable.

One example is PR'ing Turner for Stewart in the 7th, especially since he was the trail runner in a 1st and 2nd situation. You take a power bat out of the lineup, and he would have come back up in the 9th.

This didn't age well.

I saw this morning that the last time we won a conference game with a walk off home run was 2011, when Collin Kuhn hit a grand slam against LSU.


Edit:  actually I think it was Kentucky, not LSU.

Yeah what a surprise.  What was cool that you can't really tell on the youtubes and clips is that Carter had battled and hit a few foul balls off the pitcher and the crowd was up cheering him for the tough at-bat, regardless.  A nice loud roar, right before that final pitch.  It was like something out of a movie.

Also, Ole Miss hasn't won a series against us since 2019 which I found interesting.

Probably agents. If he really is 100% and doesn't want to pitch then have him give back his money and go hang out with the regular students.

He's probably as irritated as DVH is though.
