Golden Tempo?

He's got a lot of velocity.

Word on the pay boards is that we have a generous NIL offer on the table for him.  Unless someone takes him very high in the draft (or takes him lower but goes overslot) there's a decent chance he returns.

With the 5 to play 5 rule seeming all but a done deal, he'd still have two leverage years.  Staff is supposedly telling him they think he can be like Skenes and be in conversation for 1-1 in the 2027 draft.

If he's got that potential the MLB scouts will see it too
"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar the first time his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Probably.  Will just depend if they're ready/willing to spend $2MM on him based on potential with no track record.  Allegedly that's what it will take to get him to sign.

Or at least he should work fast.

We ain't paying one player $2mm.

Didn't say we were.  That's his number to sign with an MLB team, allegedly.

The thought is that he'd take less to stay here in the hopes of getting picked higher with a greater signing bonus the next year after his third year.

More depressing details about the Omaha field:

We were 9-4 in the regular season against the teams that made Omaha, including 3 series wins and 1 sweep.

Always the bridesmaid.

Hard to root for anyone there.

I guess it could be cool for West Virginia to win it in its first attempt.

I'm sure Georgia or Texas will win it though.

I'll be rooting for Troy. Not only as the biggest underdog, but my friends' son is a pitcher on the team.

Bottom line is we didn't get the job done  when we needed to and, most importantly, despite going 9-4 vs cws  teams we played like shit vs Kansas

Are we going to put a 9-4 banner on the wall?
Check your damn blood pressure!

Frustrating because it is always a similar pattern   Niu making two errors cost us the first game vs KU.  When it counts, our teams consistently freak out or forget what they're doing or just fuck up in brand new ways.  I don't fault people who attribute it to team culture and coaching.  It's uncanny.
I'm on smoko, so leave me alone.

The oufiled errors to end the last two seasons is mind blowing.   DVH needs to change something.

We are no longer "close" like he said years ago.

The craziest thing about this year's team wasn't the pitching falloff. It was how horrendous our defense was. Even playing guys out of position, it was just basic stupid shit that was uncharacteristic of a DVH team.

BleedinRed

I know I bitch, but I'll give Dave some grace.   Like Nolan, he has earned a bad season once every 8 years.

By the way, this season was NOT bad. Disappointing, yes.  Uncharacteristic in lots of ways, yes.  Characteristic in ways, yes.  But bad, no.

Not to fart rainbows, but in retrospect, it's insane we won as many games as we did and nearly (and probably should have) hosted.

Given how collectively shitty we were offensively, defensively, and on the mound, I'd argue this team's floor was WAY lower than we performed.

There's a case to be made for this being one of DVH's better in-season coaching jobs.

That was my sentiment as well towards the end of the season.

BleedinRed

I've prayed about it and DVH should actually win coach of the year with what he was able to do with this team.

And I'm not sad at all Bumgardener is leaving.  He looked Ike a travel ball kid every time he went up to bad.   Can't stand that.
