I focused on Aloy's horrible night, but man our pitchers were (are) bad.

Just look at DeCremer's outing, which looked like something out of 10U travel ball.

It's obvious we whiffed on the bats in the portal, but man did we come up empty handed in terms of pitching. Between him, McElvain, and Kircher, basically all we got were some midweek relief arms.

It's far cry from pulling Friday night guys like Root and Hunter Hollan out of the portal.

With Thompson on staff the hitting woes don't surprise me nearly as much as the pitching issues do.

I'll give Hobbs a pass.  We always have solid arms.  

Nate should have been fired years ago and DVH is going to live long enough to become the villan because of it.  Dave was already on shaky ground with many who have been on the "he needs to retire" wagon.  If this season doesn't turn around quick the axles may break with the numbers who will be climgbing on.

Welp, I consider this season to be a wash. Maybe we can right the ship, but I don't see it. On to track, and football (HA), and basketball? Softball is looking decent. This baseball team just doesn't have "it". They seem lethargic and not really together as a team. Thompson needs to go. I am really tired of seeing our "hitters" screw themselves into the ground trying to hit homers every time. Year after year, same old batting strategy. Come on next year!

Last year's offense clearly had enough talent to overcome Nate's teaching.  It's the Les Miles/Ed Orgeron method.

It will really get worse if Vitello has a bad year in MLB and starts looking for an exit.

We've been spoiled with two decades of reliably great baseball.  That was the abnormal part.

The occasional bad year is part of normal sports.  Can't necessarily determine it all needs to be burned down based on one bad start/year.

It's not like suddenly we're in a Nutt/Heath/Pelphrey/Bert/Morris/Pittman situation here.
