We've been spoiled with two decades of reliably great baseball.  That was the abnormal part.

The occasional bad year is part of normal sports.  Can't necessarily determine it all needs to be burned down based on one bad start/year.

It's not like suddenly we're in a Nutt/Heath/Pelphrey/Bert/Morris/Pittman situation here.

This is where I am.  We've been good for so long, but DVH needs to go bc a bad year after we finished 3rd last year.

But...Thompson needs to go.  ASAP.

Don't get to have bad years when we've been number one or two in baseball spending and overall resources for >10 years.

We were due a bad year. Been good way too long. But, to think we should burn it all down is asinine.

We need to be hoping for Tony V to  fall  on his ass  in San Francisco.   

I certainly am, at least in the long run. I want to bring him home when DVH retires. The guy's a winner. 

Here's hoping it comes to fruition and we don't wind up simply promoting Hobbs (who I like).

With Thompson on staff the hitting woes don't surprise me nearly as much as the pitching issues do.

I said this last night, but it's not hyperbole to say this is the worst pitching staff we've had under DVH.

Florida entered our series with a much-maligned offense and we gave up 36 hits to them.

Hell, we gave up 28 hits to South Carolina.

However, like others have said, I'm willing to give Hobbs a pass. With the lone exception of last year, pitching has carried this team and overcome mediocre to downright terrible offense and had us hosting when we were trotting out lineups with automatic outs like John Bolton, Parker Rowland, Ty Wilmsmeyer, and Diggs.

2016 was bad and the shortened covid year was going to be bad.  Seems 1 out of every 4-5 years is going to be down.

That is pretty good.  Lets see how the program bounces back next season.
