arguably his route running improved dramatically especially in the later part of last season. That's possibly a credit to his (TeSlaa) hard work and the staff around Bobby.

All that said...mostly he got on the field because other guys were hurt, portaled, or benched so who the fuck knows. End result is he's a guy that had a great combine and it's paying off now. None of this means he's going to be torching legit NFL starters in a few weeks.

As much as anyone, and I'm probably his biggest defender on here.  Maybe he's deferring to his WR coach, but the OC has to step in when his staffers go full retard on personnel moves.  And for that matter, the head coach needs to do the same.

From the outside it seemed like the staff was enamored with Broden's measurables.  He's 6'7", can jump like a NBA three man, and one of the fastest on the roster.  I get giving that guy every shot to earn a spot, but at some point the fact that he couldn't catch AIDS from rawdogging Charlie Sheen and then sharing a heroin needle with him after has to come into play for a position that includes "receiver" in the name.
Perish peacefully in a warm environment.

Yes there's that. Broden was often regarded as the "star" in spring and fall camp last season and then disappeared for the 2nd season in a row. Armstrong was always the legit #1 but he wasn't nearly as talked about. It's just more evidence that coaches generally fall in love with certain players. Possibly the QB had a lot to do with that as well and green and Broden may have developed some chemistry.

They may have believed Broden would create better separation for a down the field threat. They may have felt like other than the odd circus catch TeSlaa was a sloppy route runner etc. In my view absent any knowledge of him in practice TeSlaa to me was more of a "gamer" and that was showing up when he got opportunities. In his first season he certainly struggled at times against really good competition but I felt like last season he was fairly consistently getting open and sometimes (ok lots) ignored by the QB.

Then there's the whole ignoring Daz James existed at all...until the Liberty bowl... What a shame.

There's plenty of film of Teslaa running wide open down the field all year - guess our QB didn't get a vision exam last year.

I bet some of yall will draft TeSlaa as your wr2 for your fantasy team based on his having a good preseason.

Had him as late round backup wr but ended up cutting him. 12 man league. If anyone has him as a wr2, I hope they aren't playing for  money. I think he will have a decent season but not fantasy worthy. Probably ST mostly. But wouldn't surprise me to see him go for 3-400 yards and a few td's receiving.

I just made it up. Print the shirts.

TeSlaa scores again. He must not have been a good practice player or route runner. Or maybe he ran the right routes and our dumbshit QB thought it was the wrong one.
I need help and I know it.

No surprise.  He has been on the bubble most of his career and Ragnow isn't there now.  He is an old vet so his minimum is high.  I dont know if he'll sign to the ps or move on or retire.  He's not Ragnow but he's clawed out a career and will get an ok pension, he's made some money, and figured out how to play despite being too tall.  Respect.

If nothing else he'll probably be on the call up list for the Lions when they get an injury. I think even as a vet the min isn't so bad if he's on the practice squad so I won't be shocked if that's where he goes.

.

If he's on the ps as a vested vet he'll make $22k a week which is $374k if he lasts the season.  Who knows he has a new OC who might want to go different.  He can probably land a spot on a lesser team 53 if he wants.
He was signed on a 1 year deal for 25 for $1.4 mil and got a $75k signing bonus. No other guarantee.  He has lifetime earnings of $6.7 mil so if he saved his money he's ok.

vegashog

he can get picked up by another team. apparently the falcons are one that may be interested because they've had a shitload of injuries on the oline.

I guess Hendon Hooker didn't pan out...he got cut by the Lions.

Another case of a hot CFB QB that can't really make the transition to the complexity of the NFL.  College doesn't develop many QB sure fire pro prospects; it's why I believe they will try to make a dev league out of the SEC and B10 with a separation from the P4.  They give some money, run pro style elements for OL, QB, and D development. Paid by networks and a ready built fan base.

On the Teslaa / Broden thing

Biddy said Broden made one of the best catches he's ever seen at a practice before. Guess the coaches kept giving him opportunities hoping that Broden would eventually show up in games.

Taylen always locking on his first progression or take off didn't help either and neither did the shitty oline in that regard.
