No cheating at all, but definitely bumbling idiots. You'd think that a semi-final game would garner a decent officiating crew but then again, it was in Stuttgart on a cold December night. I'm sure it didn't pay enough for that.

I was surprised how few people there were in attendance.  I feel like if it were in Elkins, the crowd would have been larger.

I thought the Elkins crowd was pretty good for a four hour drive. I was impressed with Stuttgarts facilities, the number of players dressed out and the how big the band was. Obviously at the top end of 4A in size.

Elkins Crowd was good, I was talking about the Stuttgart crowd.  Home Semifinal game should be packed I would think.  Sure it was cold but damn.  With that many dressed out and cheer and band and all the kids involved, if just their parents and family attended it would be more than I saw on TV would think.

Unfortunately, we have some decent crews out there that struggle with rules knowledge.  There has been little to no training up until this year.  It will definitely get better over the next few years with the new Associate Executive Director over officials.  They couldn't have made a better choice. 

Also, no one turns down a playoff game and they all pay the same.  I'm not sure how much they pay, but there aren't different pay scales for different classifications.

Yep, but if you gave me the option of one win and one loss, I would take the Southlake loss and Elkins win 100/100 times.  Southlake doesn't need that win.  Elkins did.  Super fucking proud of those Elks.  Super fucking proud

Small town football is the best. Had to add one more post about our Elkins Elkins. Had 8 players make AAA 4A1 All State today. Also tonight Brooks Williams was named 4A Defensive Player of the year and Coach Watson4A Coach of the year. Back to back to back conference champs, state runner up last year, state champions this year. Revenged the only two losses in the last two years with wins over Arkadelphia and Dardenelle.
Pretty salty little team. Going to miss watching them after all these years and I don't have another grand coming on for a long time.   You cannot view this attachment.

$90 plus $.40 a mile one way for the playoffs
