Southlake beat the everloving shit out of Euless Trinity tonight 44-6 in what was supposed to be a fairly close game that would likely decide the District. 

They are good, really good.  They got beat in the finals last year and are likely better this year.  Still probably not good enough to win it all, but they are fucking good.  Already have kids on the team committed to Michigan, Ohio State, Duke, Oklahoma and Memphis and other commits likely.

Duncanville got beat, so did North Crowley. Katy has also lost this year.

Yeah, they are "ranked" #2 in Texas behind Duncanville and #18 nationally right now, with Duncanville #10, but it is early so who knows.  They do appear better than last year if they can stay healthy.  Granted, they would have been much better last year if they stayed healthy since by the end they were using a receiver as RB1 since everyone got hurt.

Southlake takes on Keller for homecoming tonight.  Isn't someone from Keller on here?  I keep forgetting where all of you DFW folks are from.

Well, it started 7-7 and looked competitive early and like last year at homecoming, it became apparent that the coach played seniors on the first defensive series...

It is almost halftime and it is now 35-7.  Keller also got an onside kick or it would be worse. 

After an int and another TD, now 42-7 just before halftime.  1:42 until halftime.  They are really fucking good

Yikes, we did an onside kick and have the ball again.  The Keller coach must have sinkholed our coaches wife or something.

Yeah, there are several things, NIL $$ being one.  The multiple HS(5?) vs 1 HS being another, granted it is something like 33k students vs 8k students, but only having one so you funnel all the talent to one team and just as importantly train the kids in the system from pee-wee football all the way to senior high.  These kids learn the base system early and so once they move up it is second nature and they have been playing together the whole time. 

We live on the Keller side of Southlake, not far from the High School and not far from Davis.  Convenient if we have a beef, we can meet up at the Sonic on Davis to settle it...  We go to the Cane's Chicken / Andy's combo there often as my boy loves both and so I get that for him.  Keller is a great town.

Southlake beat Eaton 66-7, likely remaining #13 nationally and #1 in Texas unless there is a surprise ahead of them.

They won't play anyone ranked highly enough to move up unless people ahead lose so just need to keep winning.
