What's worse about Sam is that you can catch occasional flickers of resentment.  I'll bet if you sat back over a few cole beers with him and his wife and he let his guard down, he would unload on the fans and the university.  I guarantee you they feel like they have been mistreated.

He will now leave having made $31 mil plus $11 in go away money.  $42 million dollars for a guy who likely made at most $700-800k ?  Said he'd leave when he sucked, and instead held us hostage.  Fuck Yuri for the extension.  He could have offered him a million bump and no buyout and he would have taken it.  Had he rejected it fine; thank you for your service, coach out your contract, fucking leave. 

Yuri should be negotiating that he can take the low number and not chase another gig, or else we'll hold your fucking feet to the fire while you coach OL at OBU.

When you sign a multimillion dollar contract, and know you are going to get paid whether you win or lose, what incentive do you have to really try? Especially when you are at or near retirement age. That is what we have dealt with and hopefully we get someone young and hungry to replace this slob. Screw hiring another older coach even if he has a good track record. Those guys are looking for a payday and a nice retirement. Put a carrot on the end of that string. Let them sign a contract but it pays in graduations. Win 5 games, you get x amount, and increase the amount for number of games won. I know coaches wouldn't go for that, but something needs to be done.
