It's a direct result of the mega-conference formation. Not enough teams play each other to provide a natural order for championships and playoff slotting.

I don't get why you don't just select the top 12 best teams. You have a rankings system that objectively looks at all available teams. The fact you are giving grace to a G5 team openly tells you the system is flawed. It's just plain stupid.
