The solution, of course, is for them to join a conference so they actually have to play decent teams week after week. But they won't say that. The NCAA should force them to. Hell it's ESPN who went all inclusive with these backwater G5 schools. I don't care what league you are in but you should be ranked literally in the top 12 and that's how you get in. No auto bids. No make-a-wish bids because you had a good season playing Krispy Kreme specials. Certainly no selection committees. Let the ranking system do the work. That too is a flawed system but in general I believe it's still the best way to do it.

That would be nice, but they are going to expand to 16 teams like Obijuana recommends. ESPiN and schools will use this playoff to bitch and moan for more slots to be added.

It is all about viewership than actually good teams playing. This will further dilute college football like basketball as being something special.

Correct. This time JMU and Tulane were both conference champs and ranked ahead of ACC champ Dook. If Miami hadn't jumped ND then the ACC would be completely left out.
