We are so risk averse as a Arkansas fan base we basically know what happens when we are ranked. That's right we lose damn near immediately thereafter. We went from ARV's to having a bye week and not getting any ARVs...out of sight out of mind. Weird we're only 6 or 8 plays away from being undefeated on the year and probably ranked in the TOP 5 by default and yet I don't think there is a single one of us that really believe we're a TOP 25 team. Capable of beating TOP 25 teams though...

They need to become willing, because that's the answer to the problem.

1 - if you're injured, a series off guarantees your safety and recovery before returning.

2 - if you're faking it, a series off is a time out for you and your coaches to think about it, mister

15 gets the play blown dead, a penalty, and no time off the clock. Plays happen with 12 on the field all the time, without anyone noticing until the ball has been snapped.

The most fucked part is Ryan Day was trying to tell the refs before the play clock ran down that there were 12 out there.

The play is no longer shut down if the defense has more than 11 on the field.  That changed several years ago.  It used to be a dead ball foul, but it was changed to a live ball foul.

If this becomes a common occurrence, I can see the rules committee changing the rules next year to deal with it.

I don't disagree with you at all, but they don't ask me when talking about rules changes.  We have coaches yelling all the time about the other team faking injuries.  All I can say is that they don't want me deciding on whether it's a legitimate or fake injury.  I'm not a doctor and I'm not making that decision.

That's an unfair burden to put on you guys to have to make that judgment. 

Making the player sit out until the next change of possession (or until either team calls a timeout) seems like the best, fairest way to do this without encouraging players to stay in while seriously injured.

Yeah, we have zero input about injuries, which is the way it should be.  That needs to be left up to the doctors and trainers.

Who makes the call when a player is pulled due to a potential head injury?  Is there a doctor that signals to the on-field officials?

My assumption was 15 players on the field would be so blatant you couldn't let the play run, especially when the defense is trying to end the game.
