I wonder if we can give those guys a run for their money if we have a good game against FIU.

I have seen nothing that makes me think we'll beat Mizzou aside from the fact that we might be in a real battle for a shitty bowl provided our academic standards are really high and covid 37 hits.

Also 1: Did Rocket Sanders go back into knee management? If so we are going to miss his 2.4 negative yards per rush. It seems that that extra 20lbs on his frame has really did his game a lot of good. #Transformer2OH

It would not remotely surprise me to see us beat State, Auburn, or FIU.  In fact, losing to any of those three should be followed by a Sunday afternoon press conference announcing our interim coach. 

I'd be only mildly surprised with wins over Florida or Missouri.  Neither of those are significantly better, more talented or even much better coached than we are.  Look at Missouri's schedule vs ours, and tell me they would be better than 3-4 or 2-5 if they had played the same teams we had.

We are so maddeningly close to being really good, but offensive dipshittery in the play calling and game management are holding us back.  If nothing else maybe the next big thing coach might see us as a program he can easily fix.

I had this thought earlier.  Sam is doing us a favor by playing close and showing its his ineptitude that's holding us back and not the program itself.

Yep. It is not outrageous to say this team could conceivably be 6-1 right now. And the aTm game feeling out of reach was due to yet another really ill-timed decision to go for 4th down.

The only way we go to a bowl is win the next 4 and go into the Mizzou game already having gotten to bowl eligibility. If we're being honest with ourselves, none of us feel great about going in 5-6. The quit might be strong at that point.

Mizzou is better than we are, and Drink is Gus 2.0 in that he always has his team up to play us regardless of the stakes. Unless we're 6-5 heading into that game, no way in hell I'm watching it. I've seen that movie before.

Of course, know this program and coaching staff I think we'll drop 2 of 3 to State, Florida, and Auburn to make it a moot point, in which case I think we're coach shopping on cyber Monday.
