Yeah that's what I am wondering. Our whole offensive engine needs an overhaul. Putting a new guy in the driver's seat to call plays won't change much when what we need is a miracle mechanic.

You could not be more wrong about this. 

The average age of the big donors who make sure their voices are heard is probably 75.

I mean, as recently as the Morris hiring we know with 100% certainty that a group of boosters orchestrated a plan to A) fire Long, B) fire Bielema, after which they (not the interim AD) hired the worst coach in power five history when C) bring Gus home fell through.    Why would you think those same guys all of a sudden lost interest and decided to let the administrators they hired do their jobs?

Whether or not they overvalue beating Texas, I don't know.  But you cannot argue against the fact that their paw prints are all over the shitshow we witness on a weekly basis.  Even if they are letting Hunter run things without their input now, which is highly unlikely, the fact that we couldn't hire someone better than Pittman is due in large part to their choice of Morris last time.

Too much is being made of Sam firing Enos.  Simplest answer is it's a coach who knows his is one the floundering to save his job.  If there aren't any improvements, Sam is still probably gone.

Sure, HY had to approve it because Enos had a buyout, but that doesn't mean much.  If HY is thinking about firing Sam at the end of the year, he was planning on having to pay that buyout anyway.  So, it really made no difference to him.

You may not know it or believe it, but that doesn't mean it isn't true. 

Look at the Board of Trustees page from the year we hired Chad.  Add some Springdale moneyed folks who happen to also be a big part of Six Flags over Jesus, and a certain NFL owner who happens to do a shitty job of managing the football side of his own franchise.  Those are your main culprits who stuck us with Morris (instead of Mike Norvell) after failing to pull in Malzahn. 

Like I said in the previous post, I don't know how much credence they give to beating Texas.  But I know they are used to getting their way in the athletic department, and donate enough money that their voices are going to be heard.
