Petrino sticks pretty strictly to his size/strength/speed metrics, or at least he did when he was here the first time. 

Archer does seem like the type that would go to Missouri and be mediocre 11 games out of the year and then absolutely light us up.

Well it is hard to sign in-state kids when you don't recruit them.

If his high school recruiting is going to suck, which it does, I would rather he miss on in state kids.

Because coaches can and do make early offers all the time simply to throw their hat in the ring. If they find someone they like better then you no longer have a committable offer, but it still shows up as an offer on your recruiting profile.

Many of those offers kids get, especially when they start coming in that early, are not committable offers.

Schools will send an "offer" unofficially to a kid to get their name in the hat, get him to visit campus, etc.  They usually come with conditions, based on performance, growing to an acceptable size versus peaking early, etc.

I don't know if this applies to Archer.

I'm pretty sure if Petrino wants Archer than Pittman and staff will be all over him.

the top 12 for that class have all committed or are down to 2 teams. we got a commit from the #18 ranked qb.

michigan, tenner, ucf, fsu, as well as arkansas were on his offer list but have gotten commitments from higher rated players. sure seems like those that offered him early are having second thoughts.

Well I do see one potential problem with Archer.  He's listed as 6'1".  Which means he probably is more like 5'11", certainly no more than 6 ft.

Basically he sounded unmotivated about the up coming game and season. It was worrisome that some positions do not have a clear starter, like the kicker.

Interesting there will be no media access to fall practices.

No captains named due to the portal. There will be GameDay captains for each game, and maybe not the same. Captains might be named for a bowl game.
