In fairness to Sam...I have to think he was told Arkansas was not going to be in the running and that's why Sam told him to continue to stay with Georgia. Only the kid, Sam, and whoever else was that was in the know would...know. That comment by that guy is probably taken out of context or a bit tongue 'n cheek. 

The real fraud here is that Sam was ever considered a great OL coach. The entire participation of him at Arkansas was mediocre at best. The best group he had was under Bert when they landed Tretola, Kirkland, and a couple others and that line as good as it was should have been way better. Silverfield has far more credentials in terms of OL coaching and professionalism in the trade...potentially a huge upgrade. The problem with hinging your hopes on ex NFL assistants is there's a lot of Dowell Loggains types running around out there that for reasons that cannot be explained keep landing jobs, doing mediocre, and then moving on to other jobs.

People glaze Pittman for his offensive lines here, but remember when guys like Skipper and co. were getting blown off the ball and flat out run around by the D-linemen from the likes of Toledo?

3 years into the system and the biggest line in the country and we barely managed to score 12 against Toledo and 24 against TTU.
