My kid is seriously considering going to Texas.  I'm okay with it as that it is a good school.  And dang it, maybe it's for the best.  If she goes there, it will break this cycle of heartache that is being an Arkansas fan and my grandkids will know something different.

I'm tired of seeing a list of decisions Razorback Athletics could make and having them consistently choose the worst possible one over and over and over.  I can't ever stop being a fan, but maybe it will die with me.

Texas is a good school, no doubt.  But it is in Austin, so it would be a "no" for me. I wouldn't have said that at all 30-40 years ago.  Austin was great.

it's almost like they are trying to find shit to spend the tv money so they don't have to share it with the student-athletes (which they should - that should be the money the kids get instead of asking the fans to pay for the program's expenses AND the collective to pay the kids).

I don't know why we have a PA system at BWA - you can't understand anything anyone yells into a microphone there.
Also why are we paying a DJ to "mix" 80s white pop and country songs? Let the band play but "Hey Jude" and "Freebird" have to go from the playlist last week.

Why do they not get that if one wanted an NBA experience that Memphis and OKC are an easy drive away.

Amazing how Kansas still plays in Allen Fieldhouse and that seems to be working out ok without suites and the like.

They have killed the atmosphere at Baum-Walker and so I guess BWA is next on the list. I guess that's what happens when the decision makers are pulling in 250K a year and don't have to pay fan expenses.

It would make the most sense to use the TV money to pay players, but they aren't allowed to do that as of now.  Thank the NCAA for that nonsense.

All it took for my kid was one trip to the UT campus for a school function and he had zero interest.  He saw more homeless beggars in one walk just off campus than he said he ever had in Little Rock or our trips to Memphis or Atlanta.  Granted we raised him properly in UT hatred so he went in with a little bias.

There's no doubt it's a good school though and a great opportunity for the right kid.

Dmac should have never been in college, neither should most of these shitbirds treating college ball as prep for the pros. Most would never qualify to enroll at a major university. There needs to be some major changes brought about due to NIL.

And I don't disagree with any of that. I've been saying for years that the European model for soccer is/was the way to go.  If you're talented in the big 3, then you go over to this school at 7th grade or so that focuses on sports, with academics included.

Sports should never have gained the power and money it has at the University level. The term "Student-athlete" is a joke and has been for a while, but that ship has long sailed. So the next best thing is let the players have a piece of the pie that the coaches and admins are getting.

When that baseball player is teaching little Johnny in that DVH clinic, should he get some of that money or just smile and say c'mere kid, I'll teach you all I know with all this free time I have?
The new way might not be the best way, but the old way was definitely terrible too.
