In fairness I believe two of those seasons we faced the eventual natty winner. The question I would ask: Does UCONN, BAYLOR, DUKE, GONZAGA, ARIZONA, KANSAS, UNC...Those types of programs flip their entire rosters every season and often times going after different types of personnel? 

So it's not like we're a bread and butter team that's always going to be big. One year we're big, the next we're small. This season we were Mike Anderson stupid only worse. This willy nilly recruiting is really weird even for the NIL/portal era. When I watch these other elite programs they tend to have hallmarks of what makes them really good. It's not an accident that they are where they are. It didn't take someone playing out of their minds over achieving. These programs don't tend to have "gelling problems" still yet mid-way thru the season. These teams don't have locker room drama spill out onto social media. These programs are mainly only concerned with pissing excellence.

It was mainly a bunch of Bryce Drew fans trying to convince themselves he's a good coach.

Not specific to us but there are a lot of rumors around coaching shake up in the conference.

He might have caught a little bit of lightning in a bottle. I was hoping those were stepping stones to Final Fours, but the only way to know is keep going.

I am a little bit worried about this. His first 2 years, I was 100% bought in due to his approach in press conferences. He was extremely technical, which was such a relief after Mike Anderson's "we gotta play harder."

The last 2 years, it's much more clear that his coaching is not at the highest technical level. I keep watching for plays on offense to attack the zones or other defenses that teams throw at us, and we don't do it. We don't really have plays. As some player recently said about us, "it's just iso ball." And we very rarely play zone defense, even when it's called for.

Ideally a coach who could throw different offenses at different defenses would walk through that door.

Whatever happens needs to happen and keep all the drama out next year. We have 2 great in-state talents in Burgess and Sealy that would be lovely to have, and then in the 2026 class we have 3 in-state players that are top 75 nationally.

The only trade up I see would be Beard. While he may be slimy enough to break his word, I doubt it. We're better off with Musselman until I see him flop more than once.

The last 2 seasons we have 31 losses. 

That's a lot.  I know we lucked into Devo having the greatest game of his life to beat Kansas and prop up a really shitty season with a lot of wasted talent last year.  That was lucky for Musselman. And it was literally Devo heroics because we were a bubble team all year.

He hasn't had real success since the 2 years back to back with the Elite 8. 

I'll scrub the covid year, he had 2 good years and last year was mixed and this year was horrible. 

You are retarded if you don't think we are trending down big at this point.  We have no foundation built we are back to replacing pretty much the entire team.  Not good.

I don't necessarily care if dude stays or goes.  Partly because he's done well in the past and it's not right to fire him yet.

But if anyone on this board really thinks he's going to pull this out of the gutter you're lying. 

I don't even think Musselman thinks he can which is why he hasn't signed his extension and is lifting his skirt to shit teams to get out. 

We are a program in the bottom 3rd of the SEC and the SEC sucks.  Outside of Devo saving his ass 3 years in a row he'd already be fired.

I have kinda been saying this about the offense for a couple of years, at least.  Offense is generally just to pass it around till someone thinks they have a one on one advantage.  We do run a set play, maybe a half dozen times a day. It is a pro offense, and he wants it that way.  He thinks it helps his recruiting (and maybe it does).

I have kinda been saying this about the offense for a couple of years, at least.  Offense is generally just to pass it around till someone thinks they have a one on one advantage.  We do run a set play, maybe a half dozen times a day. It is a pro offense, and he wants it that way.  He thinks it helps his recruiting (and maybe it does).

Spent too much of the year setting Mahki up high between the free throw line and the 3 pt line trying to run the offense through him. Definitely trying to run "pro"...but we aren't Denver and our #15 ain't their #15 (Jokic).

He seems to have a different "idea" every year w/ recruiting, portal...then gameplan. There's no consistency.

He is a confirmed visit to Ark, Notre Dame, and Xavier with an unofficial to Penn State. This doesn't really mean much in terms of Muss bouncing or not but does I reckon suggest that our staff is still recruiting to Arkansas (for now)
