It's obvious that there's locker room issues.  I think Muss ought to figure out who is the biggest disruption, and either boot 'em, or suspend for a month. 

Still, comes back to NIL.  If you kick someone off the team, how does that impact their NIL arrangement?

I was thinking this morning how Nolan had that eight year stretch or so where we went to three final fours and two championship games.  More sustained success than we've had in a long time.  Most coaches don't last that long at a school these days.

Yet, really only two recruiting classes.  Day, Mayberry, and Miller were one.  The whole time they were here, we just added pieces to complement them.  Then Thurman, Williamson, McDaniel, and Beck.  I guess if you want to say three big classes that next class that added Wilson and those other guys was to was a big complement to the existing pieces.

But anyway, it just shows how different things are now.  Every class every year is vitally important and every year has an entirely new cast.

I don't know how they do it.

That's the reason the (over the top)criticism of Muss at the first sign of struggle in his time here is stupid. It's what got us the first enjoyment of basketball in 20 years and he missed on some players this year. It's going to happen.

I do wish he'd teach them to play zone.

I think Devo is emotionally fragile and Muss

I think Devo is borderline narcissistic possibly in his ability and maybe he's come to terms with some of this. Watching him play it's like that extra gear and that chip on his shoulder just isn't there anymore. Devo for 4 years has caught a lot of the praise and just about all of the blame. He's about as polarizing a player as I've seen since maybe Darian Townes.

We want to focus on him but he's not the only player on the team that dribbles into coffin corners like they are trained to do it. He's not the only one on the team tossing lazy passes and looking disinterested. Our foot work defensively as a team is about as bad as you'll find. If after 4 years you are still picking up your dribble in weird spots on the court and everyone on the team is too busy trying to disappear at some point that's on the coach for playing your dumb ass.

I now consider this season lost. I don't think Muss is pulling a rabbit out of a hat with this group. I hope I'm wrong he's able to find the right buttons. I would say teams have "figured us out" but what's their to figure out? You don't need to do anything on defense other than make sure we can't get dribble drives because our entire offense is about rim pressure as Adam Ford describes. For me it's about winning the foul game and on paper we've got the players to do it...in reality these guys couldn't execute their way out of a wet fart.

Devo is out of his role. That's not really his fault, that's a coaching thing.

He's a Harlem Globetrotter. He's a left handed wild assed relief pitcher.  He is not, in any way whatsoever, Greg Maddux, a starting pitcher with pinpoint control.

We've tried to force the square peg of an offbeat player with some circus plays and good defense, into the round hole of a normal point guard or shooting guard. He's not these things. He's a counterpoint, relief to a normal player.

I mostly agree, but is you get a few mil a year for a product whose only value is watchability, well...

Muss is in uncharted territory this year. 

He's had a good run the last 8 years and has been insulated from criticism.  Our press tiptoes around him postgame and you can tell, as the losses mount, he's going to blow at some point. 

Much like Nolan did with the "pay me my money".  Nolan wasn't used to losing and had come off a hall of fame coaching run. 

Muss isn't on the hot seat as far as I'm concerned unless he does this again next year.  But that kind of pressure with his personality is a pressure cooker waiting to blow. 

No matter how everything ends, and if it's true he's indeed cooked (I'm not saying he is), I am grateful for the last 3 years.  I do not take anything for granted as a Razorback fan.

I'd argue what John McDonnell did with the track program, to this day, doesn't get the recognition for the dominance he produced.
His run is arguably one of the most ridiculous domination runs of any sport invented.
