Tyus Edney's drive to the basket was against Mizzou who had Jevon Crudup as their star at the time. Edit: Actually apparently he graded out in 94 so not sure who was on the Missouri team..might have been the older Rush by then. Edit 2: Nope it was Paul O'Liney and Derek Grimm ( barely remember him) and a bunch of nobodies

OSU had Big Country Bryant Reeves I believe and not sure who the turded out to.

I remember O'Liney was good. Seems like he played pretty well against us in Columbia that season.
The Lord wants you to put your foot on their balls and believe in it. 'Cuz that's what wins football games. Not jumping offsides like a bunch of wimps and faggots. I don't care what those pinkos over in Russia say. You want to be a loser? You go live in Russia. I'm a winner. I'm an American.

I think Crudup was the original Super Senior, seemed like he played 7-8 years for them.

Quote from: red death on Jan 25, 2024, 12:10 PMThat class also had Pat Bradley and Derek Hood.  It was a great class.

I think it had Nick Davis too.  Rebound machine.

Saxon didn't have the grades.  Kareem Pool another 6'10 kid the same.

It's tragic what they did to Pate and Adebayo.  Pate was our leading scorer that year.

Ali Thompson would have been really good.

I'll take your Crudup and raise you a Craig Upchurch.

What? He played three seasons for us and he wasn't very good. Also Nicky Davis wasn't in the Hood, Bradley, Pate class.

Woopig slowly getting older and older and the memories fade.

Hopefully he wasn't thinking Glendon Alexander because fuck that guy.

Nicky Davis I want to say was a JUCO guy that played very little while he was there with Hood. After Hood...Davis played a lot and racked up a lot of rebounds and ended up getting a shot in the NBA/pro leagues.

Today's Graham is built similar but doesn't have the rebound motor.

Everyone needs to remember that Nolan didn't typically recruit a star player.  He recruited guys who fit his system.

Collectively they are good. Individually they were okay.   Take away half a class because of a lie and you get what you get.

Frank and the NCAA destroyed what Nolan had built.  It's that simple.

Should have never made it out of the first weekend.

Yeah, but the same could have been said for us that first weekend. We barely beat Texas Southern in the first round and then should have lost to Syracuse if not for them pulling a Chris Webber and calling a timeout they didn't have at the end of the game with the lead.

That big turd shattered a backboard in the kingdome during final 4 practice. The new rim was tight, which is why we couldn't hit shit. Can't change my mind.

Davis was in that '95 class, he was a late JUCO add when the other JUCOs Nolan recruited didn't make it due to grades.

I think the final '95 class ended up being:

Derek Hood, McDonald's All-American
Pat Bradley
Kareem Reid (redshirt holdover)
Jesse Pate
Sunday Adebayo
Nick Davis
Ali Thompson
Marlon Towns
Antwon Hall

Crazy he brought in 9 guys but he had to after everyone that graduated and left early after the '95 title game. Towns and Hall both bolted after the season. Thompson was a head case but stuck it out for three years and eventually Nolan booted him. Davis only had three years of eligibility so he was done after '98. Adebayo came back after the NCAA fucking after a year at Memphis.

Ali Thompson played his freshman year only... In fact, he may not have finished his freshman year.

Why are you arguing this point with me exactly?

Well, I wasn't arguing with you per se.

That is bizarre.  I remember him playing his freshman year and then he basically left the team or got kicked off the team.

Old indeed.  I went to every game and still didn't remember correctly.

We did win a basketball national championship, right?

All I remember from the '95 title game was the Hog's having to wear the travel red jerseys and F'n Toby Bailey's reverse dunk towards the end. Otherwise the night is a shit stained blur.

I'm sorry Elvis......for all of it.

Toby fucking Bailey. We beat Rasheed and Stackhouse in the Final Four, but even w/ Edney out we couldn't handle UCLA and that damn freshman. I don't think he ever accomplished much after that besides hanging out w/ Snoop Dogg.
Pants ironed and back for more

Ali played three seasons here and he has been arrested approximately 50 times in the last 25 years. He also has about 20 kids running around the Fayetteville area. He was a lot better at crime and having unprotected sex than he was basketball.
