I'm not going to pick specific games because Pittman has a Bert-like penchant for losing some he shouldn't and winning some he shouldn't.

I think we'll win at least one in the brutal 4 game stretch of LSU, A&M, Ole Miss and Bama, but I think we'll offset it with a dumb loss to the likes of Florida or BYU.

No way in hell I'm reposting mine. What a moron.

To be fair, I predicted a dumb loss to BYU and yet I still feel like an huge idiot for predicting 7-5.

I'm struggling to find a path to a bowl game with how our offense is playing and our coaches are responding to situational football.

No way in hell we go 4-4 in conference play and I don't see 3-5 either. More than likely we end up 2-6 in the SEC to finish 5-7.

Well, shit...

BASS

I voted 7-5.  I had confidence in Sam to have our oline ready due to his pedigree.

And I had confidence in enos based on what he did with ba.

I was hopeful it defense would improve enough to get to mid level sec quality. Jury is still out on that until we play better competition, alright we are better than last year by a mile, that isn't saying much. But I whiffed on my first two hopes.

Highly unlikely we go undefeated so our first loss will be late in the season.  I figure an injury or two will derail us somewhere late.  Either to a shitty Florida or a shitty Auburn.  In typical Arkansas fashion it will be Missouri.  This is one of the more favorable schedules we have had in years.

The only thing I was right about is how favorable the schedule is.  No bigger dumbass than me.  I'm done.

Too Big Pig

I had already revised my 8-4 to 6-6.

I'd like to now resubmit at 5-7.

After the first 2 games, I told people I thought they might win 1 or 2 conference games. After the BYU game, I am not sure there is a game left on the schedule they can win.

Feral

I fully expect us to win 1 or 2 we shouldn't while getting our teeth kicked in here and there and dropping another we shouldn't.

It's the Nutt Bert Pittman way.

Quote from: Feral on Sep 18, 2023, 08:09 AMThe big questions are whether Yurachek:

1) has the balls to move on from Pittman given that he's the one who hired him and then gave him a huge raise after 1 good year.

2) has the balls to turn over coaches right as we enter another conference expansion. Both OU and Texas seem to have found their guys for now, and A&M fires guys for what we extended Pittman for.

I've never been a huge fan of Yurachek's for a couple of reasons, and I'm not bullish on him turning this thing around.
Goddamn read more post fucking less. Yurachek is the best AD we've ever had by a country mile. He won't hesitate to move on if we win 4-5 games this year.

I knew we would find common ground at some point.

Except you were not at all right about the favorability.

I mean, did you even look at it?

So the schedule this year isn't favorable?   That is what you believe?

HogOfWar

I said 6-6, but I am leaning 3-9, maybe 4-8. Chad levels are here again.

The stretch coming up is tough, but I agree its favorable compared to other years.  Mississippi State and Auburn are both down.  Alabama appears to be well below championship levels.  Missouri is Missouri...anytime we've lost to them it's been more of a function of us not taking the game seriously or playing poorly than them being any good.  Florida isn't as good as the other times we've played them in their stadium.  Ole Miss looks to be on the upswing a bit, but we catch them after they've played Alabama and LSU in consecutive weeks.

The schedule isn't exactly favorable, but it's about as good as we're ever going to get, particularly in a year where we have a senior QB, a returning all-SEC RB, and apparently a much improved defense.  If we can't capitalize now, we likely never will under Pittman.

It's definitely an "as good as it gets" type of schedule in the modern era with the SEC looking out of sorts this season.

I said 7-5 at the beginning of the year given some of the question marks (which have objectively turned into red flags). I'm not sure that's feasible anymore since we'd have to go .500 in conference play to achieve that.

After taking another look at our schedule, there's still a fairly clear path to 6-6. Win one of the next 4 and you only have to split the stretch run of Auburn, Florida, State, and Mizzou, 3 of which are at home.

It's all predicated on this 4 game stretch. Go 0-fer and this team likely falls apart and finishes 4-8. Win 1 we otherwise shouldn't and a bowl is still in play. Still a disappointment but not a total disaster.
