No question KJ was a more effective QB under Briles.

No question KJ was also very likely a limiting factor these past few years because for all the good and great he is...there is also a heavy element of fail to him. He was at his best with a legit NFL WR on the roster and hasn't really been the same thereafter which certainly isn't his fault. Arguably it's the fault of the guy now calling the plays...Guiton. Our WR "room" has steadily gone down hill since Justin Stepp departed.

He's not the greatest decision maker and this season just enhanced it by a million percent. As someone on woopig has said many times...million dollar arm...ten cent head.

KJ could still take a super senior covid year if I'm not mistaken which could mean we'll see him transfer to ole say TCU next season.

I'd say he's a typical cfb QB who is capable of winning 8 games a year in the SEC most years.  He's physically gifted enough to end up XFL/CFL/Arena ball.  There is enough skill with him to build around is all I'm saying.

I'm still not 100% sold on KG.

We were in a lot of 3rd and longs yesterday and were bailed out usually by a great KJ run. Granted, we didn't have a lot of those earlier this year, and there were a few big throws he made to keep the chains moving.

He seems better than Enos, but that bar is subterranean. Let's see how the Auburn game goes.

2. an elite OL coach still should have done better than what we did

3. Mateos probably isn't an upgrade, but he's not a downgrade, and the change in offensive scheme (Petrino) will matter more than the OL coach

Pittman can both be the problem and the solution at the same time in some kind of quantum fuckery of deep thought. After all he did have a giant set of nuts on him to hire Bobby Petrino. That's if he was actually the one to do it and I don't believe for a minute it was his idea but he may well have been on board with it. So lets pretend it was his idea...it takes a big man to admit you got a problem and I for one feel BMFP deserves a chance to end things the right way and hopefully he's here and successful for the next several years.

If you want to dig deeper I'm sure all one needs to do is look at those covid recruiting years. Clearly we got drunk on Super Seniors which helped deodorize the otherwise horrendous recruiting or to the point we flat out weren't developing guys. Some of that you can just say it was a coaching staff still trying to find their footing. If we're still looking at class after class with giant positional gaps on the roster then I think we'll have to officially suggest that Pittman's running an of an SEC program is just another clusterfuck fail in a long line of them.

We need to be ahead of the curve on NIL not sitting on our asses crying in our beer while the other teams having their collective hands up our girlfriends snatches. You got to get your raincoat on and get to fucking just like everyone else or you'll be left behind. We need some hella legit bag men NIL experts with pro level player acquisition experience. Not as on the field coaches but as "analysts" and "recruiting coordinators" director of sound financial planning etc.
