i don't know what is true as far as how this went down. what i pointed out was pittman couldn't say anything publicly in his last presser about hiring an oc because if petrino was his choice, he wasn't available until he was let go yesterday.

Very good point.

For all we know this deal was done when Pittman's retention was announced.

So Garrick McGee is like a WR coach at Louisville now days I think.

I figure Guiton and Smith will be interviewed and considered for retaining. Surely Kennedy is fixing to "pursue other opportunities"...oh isn't Fountain a former OL coach? Maybe the Baylor OL coach gets a call...

The TE coach I got nothing.

I've heard rumor that Petrino was vetted before Enos was canned... and that Enos was already on the block in Sept (which we all already knew).  No idea how true that is.

I will say though, that given the timing of the ArkansasEdge announcement, and the BP announcement, and how long it probably took to run BP up the flagpole and get buy in... that that above rumor could have a little merit.

I guess it's just how you so quickly state your opinions as facts as if you have some sort of inside knowledge. And you also do it an a sanctimonious and condescending way. It's nice to know that your posts are "I was right but things change" posts.

The really entertaining commentary is over on Facebook with all the Karen's talking about what a new low this is to bring back this man of low moral character. He had sex once or twice. Jesus just get over it.

Razorback fans are just being good Baptists.  Forgiveness.  Redemption.  Second chances. All that.

That's kind of Jesus's thing, so I think he is okay with this rehire.

And since he clearly likes smiting us, this just sets that up nicely if he changes his mind.

Silly Karen's. All football coaches with penises are of low moral character. Well, the ones that win are.

I remember someone had the sig line that went something like: "Most Hog fans are happy with their $14,000/year job, a good Christian man coaching the Hogs, and Hee Haw on Saturday nights."

Lot of sanctimony going on everywhere except here.
I'm sorry Elvis......for all of it.

"I've always been a Razorback fan and rooted for them and know how hard this last season has been for all of them, so when Coach Pittman had the idea of me coming back, I was immediately interested. Like I said, it was almost a dream."

So, per Bobby P, it was Pittman's idea.  IF that is true, then that is a big fat gold star in Pittman's book as far as I'm concerned.  Even if it doesn't work... that took balls, and shows that he is, in fact, doing things to make the program better and win games.  IF it was actually Sam that initiated this, that buys him a grace period in my book and my hat is off to him.

I don't see this as a Nutt/Mal-a-zon thing at all. The pressure on Sam lately was turned off overnight. I'm sure even if it wasn't Sam's idea, he's happy to have him

I hope that's the way it worked and if it was, I've definitely been too hard on Sam and misjudged him.  I'd apologize to him in person if I had ever said it anywhere but here and if I thought he cared.

I like Sam, as a guy.  So I hope it is true too... because it tells me that it isn't an ego thing for him and he really does want to build a winning program, whatever it takes.  That, to me, is a good HC mentality.

TC

Count me in as one who owes Sam an apology.  I accused him of being lazy and pathetic, and not leading the program as it needed to be led.

For him to then go out and get the one guy he knows Arkansas fans love maybe more than him, says a lot about him as a person, and a leader, and how much he really does want to turn the program around for good.

That's pretty damned refreshing after having a couple of coaches who wouldn't dare put someone on staff who's football I.Q. is higher than theirs.

Good job, Coach Pittman. I shall refrain from commenting further on your cup size, and I apologize for my critique which was at times too harsh.

HOGSRUNWILD

I know that some want Petrino as the HC, but as long as Sam gives him full control of the offense, in ALL PHASES, It might be better with Sam as the HC and Petrino as the OC.

Petrino hates doing many of the 'non-offense' things that are required of a HC.  Let Sam recruit, glad-hand and be 'nice'.  Let Petrino do all phases of the offense including all play calls and calls as far as going for it and punting and such.  Sam is horrible at those things.  Give total offensive control to Petrino and be he can do the administrative things a HC does and that are also very important to do right.  Let them each do their thing and it could be better than having Petrino as the HC.

Don't go away mad.  Just go away.

I love the move and certainly feel like Sam is on board with the decision to bring back Bobby P. As I've already said I think this was in the back of some minds as far back as Bobby damn near embarrassing us a year or so ago. I don't apologize for a god damn thing though. This whole thing is a money grab and we are all falling for it per usual but we don't care because deep down we know there is a shot in the dark that BMFP is going to help get this turd polished up for a few years. Beyond Bobby I have the same loss of confidence in this present staff's ability to judge/develop talent much less recruit it.

red death

Imagine you Rip Van Winkled the last 12 years.  Come out of a coma today and somebody has to tell you about what you slept through.

In a lot of ways it feels like that anyway.

Bobby Petrino coming back to coach the Hogs again has me convinced this is all a simulation.  No way it's not a computer program and somebody in the ether feels sorry for us and changed the university rules with a keystroke.

We are definitely being fucked with.
