I am not saying a change should not have happened, it probably should have happened last year honestly especially after losing to UAPB but....

Why does an AD tell tell coach they are coming back and to start working on next season then 10 days while the AD is in Nashville he calls the coach to tell him he is fired?

Also, how is it the AD can come up with $1 mill for a buyout that is 10 times the NIL budget for women's basketball which is dead last in the SEC?

So the new coach is gonna be more expensive and the nil is going to have to increase - which means expenses continue to increase.

Has there been one cost cutting measure in the athletic department? All I hear is spend spend spend - create new positions and hand out raises and pass the bill to the fans.

I think Aston would be a better hire than Miller but then what supports are they promised and what do they actually get?

The obvious answer is that someone with deep pockets told Hunter he/she would pay some if not all the buyout.  And hopefully, that same person can deliver NIL funds (provided they don't come from what they are giving to another sport).

This is in stark contrast to six years ago when Mike A "didn't have a plan" and that was the excuse HY used to get rid of him. Not saying MA didn't need to be gotten rid of, just comical that HY moves the goal posts on his reasoning.

I didn't intend that to be a defense of Hunter.  Just trying to figure out his reasoning.  Given how he's handled Pittman, I don't think Hunter has the balls to make that call without money behind him.

Also worth noting that mid-major to P4 hires unlike in the men's game tend to flame out.

Caldwell at Tennessee could be the exception but she has only been in Knoxville for one season.

Yes I don't see the problem here. Contradictions in statements from an AD? OH NOES. New hire more expensive than the last...yep that's just like the real world now days. Which is probably the biggest reason Neighbors stayed as long as he did and the other being apparently he was well liked in the building kinda like Pittman is well liked.

Oh I see we didn't hire her....so we're not willing to pay up.
