If I was Cal, i would wait too.  Get the Arkansas contract signed and everything you want out of it before notifying UK.  That way if Arkansas somehow falls through, he can make UK fire him and litigate over his $35 million.

"That's embarrassing.  Looks like Josh Duggar when his parents asked him to babysit."

For $7 mil I'll put a webcam in front of my shitter so I can answer fan questions while I drop the Longhorns off in College Station.

Once authored a post that critics claimed, "Was notaslibro level."

They should have petrino introduce him and work in a "slapdicks" comment.

Quote from: The Whyte Boar on Apr 09, 2024, 10:24 AMFake or not, Matt Jones is a mouthpiece for UK athletic department.  They may have wanted Cal gone, but they don't like the appearance of having him poached by Arkiesaw.  So, they run that little rumor yesterday that he was thinking about backing out and say that he doesn't have the option now.  So, the narrative will be at some point in the future that he tried to come back but got fired by the great Kentucky.

All this shit from Jones is just UK trying to save face and stir shit up for Cal and a conference rival.  That's it.

Wouldn't they owe him $33 million if they went that route?

Sigh...they're not going that route.  That's the point.  Cal is gone and they know it, thus, they won't be gong that route.  But they can still throw that narrative out there with a willing mouthpiece like Jones and their fans and some of the national media will believe it.

Really? I don't think he'd be a good fit there but I think he's a quality head coach.

Didn't think he would be a terrible option for us.

Plus they're all running with the "Cal still hasn't notified Kentucky" line.  If they have to they'll use this to try to fire him for cause and skip out on the buyout.

It's all posturing.  Deal is getting done.

Exactly.  And as I said, Call hasn't officially notified them yet and probably won't until he has everything he wants in at least a memorandum of understanding at Arkansas so that if somehow it falls through, then he can force them to fire him and litigate the buyout.

I suspect he'll actually notify them after the Arkansas BOT officially approves his contract which is supposed to happen this afternoon.

he doesn't have an agent for contracts negotiations so there's no middle man to run these things back and forth. who knows, tyson might be the go between right now.

if he were to talk directly to anyone at the university then he would be in violation of his contract. maybe he doesn't want to leave kentucky after all this time by getting fired.

The Forde douche from SI and the University of 0-19 said yesterday that Calipari is represented by Tom Mars.

Which means they're probably negotiating something into the deal where Cal has to disparage the governor at least once per week.

Someone found Hunter's burner Twitter that predicted Muss to USC and Cal to Arkansas well in advance lol.

isn't mars a defense attorney? i think he might have represented him in some of the accusations, but cal has been famous for negotiating his own contracts.

i could, and probably, be wrong.

Just going by what Pat Forde tweeted.  Not endorsing the information.

If we're being honest that Tyson & Jones NIL money is what is going to bring him to Arkansas not the 8 million guaranteed salary over a presumed 5 year deal. He could get that at a lot of schools even right fuckin now. This NIL business might mean some legal gymnastics in how it's worded in a contract for a state institution. You might want to make sure that money isn't a fairy tale and can be used on day 1. I'm curious how all that works when the schools and coaches weren't supposed to be in control of all that shit initially.

There may also be some buyout talk going on as that was alleged to be a hang up with Beard. If Cal didn't have a buyout to leave Kentucky he damn sure isn't going to have one for Arkansas. Muss evidently didn't have much if any of a buyout and he used that to play hanky panky. A large buyout parks a coach at your school for a good many years. That's why Oats isn't going anywhere at Alabama.

"I got fired for using free speech" yea imagine getting killed over it

I doubt Mars ever called himself a defense attorney.  He definitely goes both ways between plaintiffs and defendants. He just developed his own little niche in dealing with NCAA and conference rules problems.    He tweets like a pure liberal.  He may very well have represented Cal in the past.

Just had lunch with a guy who has plenty of Kentucky connections.  He says they are universally glad to get rid of Cal.
Apparently retarded member of the "fucking old people" crowd as defined by Swahili Steve.

This is the account people are saying is HY's burner account. All I know this has been one of the wildest searches. It now feels like Muss left 3 months ago.
