It's been talked about already but when you are willing to take a 2 million dollar per yr pay cut and yield like 33 million dollars in salary to take a downgrade job it stands to reason your bargaining position is not on firm footing. Unless he was willing to reorganize his contract in order to get some things he wanted out of the deal such as more NIL and an extension. In any case I don't know that I would see it as slimy...he wouldn't be doing anything anybody wouldn't do to a long time employer unless there was a great deal of friction.

Essentially we quietly fired Muss, Kentucky off-loaded Cal onto us...everyone gets to save face. Kentucky is gambling they won't hire their next Billy G.

this. cal never asked them to renegotiate. they're just massively butthurt that he left without being fired (even tho firing him would have done nothing).

Arkansas essentially saved them that by hiring him.
